So I know that there are couple of threads on this issue, but I haven't seen any with a poll. I've noticed that I sometimes get the rumble strip vibrations when I'm slowing down, however it's on very specific conditions. For example I find that when I leave work at 5pm on our smooth af road, and I slow down from 40-0 mph, I'll feel it. However after driving for a half hour, turning off the highway and slowing down from stop, I don't get the vibes. It's very confusing. So instead of going down the dealership rabbit hole, I'd like to see what the responses and feedback about the TSB fix are. If you've had it fixed, what worked for you?

Thanks but this TSB specifies non trd models. I have a TRDOR. Would this be an issue?

I get intermittent vibration when braking from the rear (can replicate if slightly pull parking brake lever). Dealer insisted it is from front and is "from rust on the rotors". Truck has 2k miles on it. I will bring it up at the 5k service. To me, a brand new truck shouldn't shake.

I hear you. It really is something I don't think we should have to deal with. Seems like this truck has a couple vibration/resonance type issues. I have around 6k miles on mine, I'm considering if I should bring it up with the dealer.

Only 11 people had this issue? I doubt that. We need more votes for this poll to be statistically significant! Vote its your right! :D

Need to add an option for people who fixed it themselves with the ECGS bushing

I thought the ECGS bushing vibes were different from the decel rumble strip vibes?

My vibration is only from the rear and only when braking.

Mine as well. Is is repeatable and replicable, meaning does it happen every time or only sometimes?

Intermittent and cannot consistently replicate under any condition.

I have had two vehicles with this issue, one resulting in a lemon law buy back. This is a rear axle and rear brake drum issue. See my past posts for detailed info. Tell your dealer they don't know what they are talking about. Since you can replicate your issue by slightly applying the parking brake, you are proving the issue is in the rear brake drums and not "rusty rotors" (front brakes.) This TSB has been applied to some TRD OR models with the issue. I also suggest contacting Toyota Corporate to open a case regarding the problem. The more people who call and report it, the better chance we have at a permanent fix.

Same here, so I'm battling whether to take in to the dealer. I think it's still worth mentioning to the dealer, just in case something comes out of it in the future. At least it will be on record that the issue is present.

I concur with both of you. I am going to insist they look at it again at the 5k service, if they try to brush it off I'll start a case.

Take it to the dealer, like you said, and tell them that the truck doesn't feel safe when you apply the brakes. I had this problem twice. Meaning, the dealer had to fix my truck 2 separate times for the vibrating/shaking issue. Two different dealerships, because I moved.

So far, after the 2nd TSB service for the same problem, I have not experienced any rumble strip vibrations when braking. The changed out my rear brakes completely and the adjusted the tension on the drum brake shoes, since they believed that they were over tightened and caused the brakes to warp.

Hope this helps. Mine is an OR and I did not have any issues or hesitation from the dealerships.

Wish you the best of luck!

Wasn’t for me. Got the TSB and the needle bearing broke a 2nd time 2 weeks later (POS) so the ECGS bushing was the final fix
