3rd gen shell on 2nd gen

Does a 3rd gen snug top shell fit a 2nd gen?
I’m interested in buying one in my area but not sure if it’ll fit or if we need to modify something to make it fit. Wondering if anyone has done this and if so do you have pictures?

Not going to fit. The bed dimensions are not exactly the same. The 3rd gen is a few inches longer which would be the issue.

 

Nope. 3rd gen has been redesigned. I mean the bed and back of the cab is different. Especially the height. Tailgate on 3rd gen is thicker than 2nd gen.

If you got it on your truck, it will look funny because the shape will look odd and odd height on cab and shell.
