Some of these companies actually have a short lead time, i.e. P-P Engineering. I didn't include lead times in the list because they constantly change, and this isn't something that can update on its own.

Is weight a major consideration? My guess is that they are all +/- 30lbs per pair. Is that a deal breaker? Show of hands.

i held out for a long while until i found some that were simple, bolt on, strong, nice design, and under 55lbs ea side. i ride light and it's a thing for me. just adding sliders in the first place was a big commitment for me due to the weight.

In your opinion, what was your concern? That's less than the weight of a teenage passenger.

Also, is there a noticeable difference between 55lbs and 75lbs per side?

Edit: sorry for putting you on the spot. I'm not really trying to down play your decision. I'm just looking for customer input since our sliders are on the hefty side.

I may be misunderstanding the table, but there is a DCLB version of the OPOR sliders. I have them. They also have a top plate.

The table is set up such that if something is not an option, or not available, the cell will say "N/A". If there is a dash, "-", that means there is no additional charge associated with that addition or change.

Gotcha. Put a pic above - not sure if that constitutes a top plate or not.

    all good, no problem.

i'm not the usual Taco driver. my truck is setup for tossability and throttle steering. i'm not hugely neurotic about it, but i am committed to keeping it somewhat (realistically) light. one of the reasons i don't mind adding these is because they sit low and mid portion of the chassis, so they won't affect handling too negatively. yeah i know... just don't go telling me "it's a truck not a sports car". i drive a truck like this because it's way more fun for me than driving a sports car like this.

I am also one of the weight conscious people. I also based off of value and cost vs weight. So I have a aluminum CBI T3 front bumper. Pelfrey high clearance rear bumper. And your sliders with kick out and fill plates. I also have Pelfrey skids front Is aluminum mid and transfer are steel. Gas tank skid is aluminum. My idea is I used the weight of the bumpers and skids to even out some of the weight distribution. Also taking into account I feel more likely to need steel to protect my belly but not so much in the front. Aluminum from helps not sag the front as much and is a good compromise safety wise in crashes. (That was discussed a lot in a different thread) the steel bumper in the back helps add some weight to keep the rear axle down. I also factored in the fact that I shed some weight with the parts and sheet metal I removed.

Slider weight was not a big concern for me because it’s relatively low and between the axles. Also cost wise I didn’t see much advantage to a more expensive and slightly lighter slider.

Also I got Koenig countersteer 17” wheels because I like the offset size and best of all weight of the rims. I couldn’t justify the cost of TE37 wheels but I wanted a lighter than standard wheel to make up for going up in tire size. I think about all my mods for a long time and weigh out advantages and disadvantages. Every thing is a compromise of function, cost, weight, and aesthetics.

Thanks for making a great product mobtown.

Yes! And now we are offering a powder coating option for shipping sliders now.

I was concerned about weight then I added the sliders and didn't notice any difference at all. It felt the same, gas mileage stayed the same, all of it. As a consumer, I went with RCI because they were doing a sale at the time and they are a bit lighter but knowing what I know now after install, weight would not be a consideration.

This is kinda what I was getting at. Seems like it would be difficult to tell a difference of 30lbs between the various slider options in everyday situations.

    Thanks for everyone's input.

It is, you really can't tell. If you are planning on loading the truck up with armor, rtt, and other accessories then ya, I can see where 30 pounds might matter but for most of us that will just get sliders and skids, it won't make a difference.

Weight is a significant consideration for me. Tacomas just don't have that much room to spare weight wise once the bed is loaded up for a trip. It isn't the 30lb difference between one set of sliders and another, it's the 30 lbs for the sliders, 60 lbs for the front bumper, 50 lbs for the back bumper, 200 lbs for all the steel armor... Stuff adds up! The closer I can keep the truck to stock weight, the less stress I put on the components and the less I have to modify to keep it capable (sacrilege I know).
