Hi all just wanted to see if anyone has encountered this issue? If it’s even a issue. So my truck make a slight thump that you can feel when I let off the brakes after I have came to stop, like as if I came up to a stop light and went to go take off. I have noticed it in the past but it wasn’t frequent but in the last couple days it’s been doing almost 75% of the time I drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of thump? Like a hard downshift when you go to accelerate? Or a thump in the braking itself?

Are you sure it's not gas sloshing?
Do you feel it on a full tank?

When you buy a new truck or car, it’s different from the last one. Do you have a basketball in the bed?

Possibly the driveshaft slip yoke. My Tacoma doesn't do it but my 4Runner does....a couple of squirts of grease solves the problem for awhile.

I will try greasing the slip yoke since that sounds like pretty easy job.

the thump is very light and it feels like it’s coming from the drivetrain cause if I were to put the truck in neutral and come to a stop and then put it back in drive before taking off it doesn’t do it.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Possibly axle wrap especially since you're hearing it on accel and decell. Similar posts made in the past. Also could be as simple as spare tire chain hitting the rim/bed as its just freely hanging back there. Start with the simple stuff.

My 2001 tundra use to do the same until i greased the driveshaft yoke one a year. Haven't noticed it in the tacoma yet.

So I did some research and took a look at the driveline today. I do not have any zirk fittings on my u joints towards the back, I have a 2019 trd off-road. On one of the videos I watched the guy did say some models don’t have zirk fittings and that he wasn’t sure, turns out he may be right. So then I went onto removing the driveshaft and come to find most of my grease was gone and brown from water at the slip yoke. I did notice that my boot was in two pieces and at first thought it was normal cause it’s looked factory but then realized that it’s a boot and should be sealed. Any how I cleaned and re-greased the slip yoke and put everything back together and went for a test drive, and that seems to have fixed my issue. I’ll just drive it till it start doing it again and buy a replacement boot when I have to re-grease it again later down the road. Thanks to all that commented and lead me down the right path!

What grease did you end up using for the slip yoke?
