Shallow mount? I want to just add subs on stock setup. Did you chronicle the sub install? More pics?

Sorry man that’s the only pic I have of the install. They are shallows but it was very easy if you have knowledge if wiring.

I bought the Kicker tweeter upgrade. I couldn't really tell much difference. So I bought Kicker speakers to replace all door speakers $130.00 from Crutchfield. Wow what a difference. I definitely recommend it. Total $230.00 and it sounds awesome.

Fronts are Focal 6 1/2 Performance series 30th Anniversary components and rear are 6 1/2 Focal Integral series Coaxials. Super Clarity when paired with Quality Amp.

Thanks!! I'm looking at upgrading to focal speakers. I wasn't sure if the rears were 6 1/2 too. ~

Wondering what amp you used and what are your thoughts on the subs, are they required or just a bonus

Thanks Mytacoma03 for the info, very helpful.
I am waiting for my 2020 to arrive in the next week to finalize my equipment list as I am not sure if the power driver seat has any space below it when in the lowest position for an amp.

Your system is basically what I am looking at as I am a focal fan and have another couple questions if you don't mind:

Are your subs powered ? I am thinking they are not because you are running a 5 channel amp.

Any issues installing the component tweeters ?

I am looking at a single compact powered sub , like the jl unit and a 4 channel amp , focal or jl, otherwise identical to your setup. Thoughts

4 of the channels are running all 4 of my door speakers including the tweeters and the 5th channel is running my sub. I actually traded in my tacoma for a 2020 4runner, I put same system from my tacoma to my 4runner lol. Tweeters go in OEM location. In other words if you are wanting a similar system I would recommend you get a 5 channel amp.

Fyi my Amp fit under the seat of my tacoma, under seat of 4runner now. I'm assuming your 2020 space will be the same?
