Anyone running a spod setup on a 3rd gen offeoad? I'm really interested in the SE version with led screen. Any reviews good or bad? Pics always welcome. Thanks for any info

I like the idea of the spod however with the 3rd Gen truck off road model there are few areas to mount your switches.......I found this bugger and plan on removing the cubby on the left side of the steering wheel, still need to figure fuse box and relay configuration in terms of where to mount these conponents.....hopefully they come up with an spod for the 3rd Gen before I install my set up......20160415_080503.jpg

I emailed spod a while back and they told me they only had the universal one for now. Never said they were working on an official one for the 3rd gen like they did for the 2nd gen. Maybe they will eventually release one as I'd love to have one.

I wouldn't say SPOD ever made one for the 2nd Gen, It was a pretty basic kit and didn't include any type of area to install switches like the Jeep SPOD. You needed to get like a Iggy Switch panel to work with it. I would look at SwitchPros, its a bit more, but you get a much more compact universal system that more feature rich then the SPOD.

With the universal kit couldn't you use your own switches in the blank spots? And also since it isn't used for anything vital like headlights, and I ALWAYS have my phone on me, what about the Bluetooth module?

Screenshot_2016-04-15-14-16-51.jpg This is the lcd screen. It would be nice if they made a housing that replaced the cubby hole to hold it.

do you think the 2nd gen one will work on my 3rd gen? as long as you find a nice place for the switches?

Do you think its possible to mount the spod switch bank up where the sunglasses holder is? has anyone done that and can comment? Im hesitant because of the airbags and such in the pillars.

I know some 2nd gen guys did. Airbags and headliner is no problem. I got crawl control so that's not an option for me.

As others have said, I believe it would work but I haven't done it yet. I think the only thing that might cause trouble is where to mount the switches. I've got a sport so I could sue the sunglasses holder as long as they are the same size.

I just installed the sPod SE w/ LCD screen system into my 2nd gen Tacoma. There is no difference between the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma set-up. What makes Tacoma different than other packages is that we get a mount that bolts up to the side hood wall. You use self tapping screws to bolt it to the side wall.

How do you like the lcd screen? Can you turn it off completely so no lights show up at night?

I love it man, great system. Its nice just simply plugging up lights to the system and your done. I love the screen the most, it is 100% better than the switches I was going to do, plus simpler. got to love simple. yes you can turn on the screen at night. it turns off by itself if not being used anyways.

Any possibility of mounting switches next to locker, crawl control buttons there's some space left over. I really like reaching for switches in the dark without looking then a screen.

Through the fire wall. There is a black rubber garment that already has wires coming through. Just push that to the side a little and you can get the wires through.
