I’m in Texas unfortunately. But I just spent the good part of 30 minutes on the phone with Marv. Just a wealth of information so freely given away. He really knows his stuff, and doesn’t mind giving you his time. Great guy. Thanks for the recommendation everyone!

Reading through this thread makes me want to start my install...I just have to finish my dual battery install first.

I have everything for the audio install sitting in my garage...:annoyed:

Yeah, I was out of the "sub game" for a few years then came down here to Georgia and one of my co-workers is a prior audio installer, certified apparently. He turned me on to Taramps (Brazillian Company) who are making these tiny amps that put out massive power and are more reliable than the big American names we are all familiar with. He also told me about Sundown Audio which is also easy on your wallet and they make competition grade woofers as does Skar Audio.

I'm a music junkie...Country, Classic Rock, EDM, Folk, Doom....whatevs'. And this equipment is on par with all of the other stuff out there and IMO it may even be better quality.

This is the amp I bought on a dyno test:

That’s pretty awesome. I’m actually doing a Sundown 1000 watt amp for my subs. My audio guy here was raving about it.

Apparently those brands are the heavy hitters in the competition audio world. I dig it, not going broke to have a killer audio system in my truck.

You and me both. The rest of my MLV comes on Thursday/Friday so until then I am sharpening my dsp skills at work. I would rather be home finishing wires, getting amp board prepped, and working on new crafted sails. Wish I was working from home again for 3 months :(.

Man that sounds pretty awesome. I’ve been reading up on MLV a lot recently... I was wondering if I should do it since I’ll already be doing the sound deadening already...

Just time consuming, also, i had no experience with this prior so youtube videos were a must. Removing all seats was easy, middle console was easy (except parking brake cover of all things lol), carpet obviously easy, I threw away chopped fiber mat because cld, ccf, and mlv is enough cushion. I took notes of order of stuff i removed, left bolts in spots like seats, middle console, back wall so it would make it easier. When i do it again, ill get all main flat parts with cld and not worry about 100% coverage, go faster with ccf, and try and not take as much time as i did with mlv on little corner spots that i could have just put a big piece or pieces using proper tape(s). Lots of info out there, if you ever have questions feel free to PM me. I messaged a few bigger named people on the forums and they never got back to me. Too busy Instagraming i suppose.

Im slowly getting it done. Started deading this weekend and was pushing to finish until i decide to switch my amp set from a 5-channel to a 4-channel and 1-channel. Had to order a few addition parts and started to mock up the mounting points. I wanted simple but it never ends up like that...lol

Has anyone put in a down firing sub box in a 2017 tacoma sr access cab? I'd like it to extend across the rear floor pans so I don't lose all of my cargo space. The truck is a utility model I'm guessing, because it does not have rear seats...i any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

That's what I am talking about! Those JL subs hit super hard considering they are only 2 5/8 mounting depth. Just got mine done and it is super clean. Memphis VIV65 5 channel with M Series 6X9 components in front doors and 6 1/2" coaxes in rear doors. Thinking of swapping out front aluminum dome tweeters for some soft domes but overall, very happy.
