Which synthetic oil is the best for the 3rd gen Tacos? And what would the oil change interval be for synthetic?

Penzoil, Mobil 1, Castrol, amsoil...your preference. Oil change interval is usually prescribed in the the maintenance schedule that came with the truck. Usually 10k unless under adverse conditions then 5k. I stick to the 5k routine myself

I am partial to Mobil 1. But I hear great things about Amsoil as well.

Been happy with Mobil 1 for about 18 years. Sure there is better but not worth searching, used oil analyses, etc.

I change the oil every 5k on my truck and S2000, annually on the motorcycles, and as prescribed by the TSX computer.

This is with your STI? Don't all STI owners run Rotella T6 diesel oil? :p

I stick to 5k and what the factory recommends cause warranty. Maybe after 36k miles and a down pipe, intake and tune I may run something else.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
That's such a waste, that stuff's good to 25k they claim. Why spend that kinda money on it if you're dumping it out so early? Conventional oil could easily handle that interval with flying colors. I'd run that oil at least 10k before dumping it myself considering you're paying close to $13 a quart for the stuff.

OP, there's no such thing as a "best" synthetic anymore. Pick whatever bottle you like best and run it, all of them are great oils. There's a marginal difference in all the synthetics available today. Back in the day, Amsoil was indeed the best, but technology and development in modern oils has made them all exceptional performers. All the off the shelf synthetics are so good now, I don't see the point to spend the money on expensive oils like Amsoil, Redline, etc. Plus, they're pyramid marketing scheme is irritating as all get go.
I run Pennzoil Platinum in mine and it works just fine. 7500 mile intervals or 6 months, whichever comes first.
