I just dont want to get jolted back into my seat on the interstate as the truck downshifts 2 gears searching for power, upshifts, then immediately downshifts again over and over again until I go 60mph in the slow lane getting passed by everybody. Please do something.

You/we ain't getting squat. They made a turbo kit for the v6. We screwed bruh!

Trade your 2.7 ATs in for a MT. Header back exhaust. Better intake or just air filter. Drive.
DIY turbo kit if you really wanna.

Minimal comms from OVT in regard to the 2.7 engine. None of which have anything promising to say.

Spoke to a corporate manager today. The guy was nice, but basically told me I'm SOL until further notice. He has no way to know whether or not something is in the works, so it is what it is. I'm just gonna take my L, and not organize long highway trips with the Tacoma. Hope they eventually flash the 2.7's because if they don't, I won't buy Toyota again.

One could always shed out the money and take it to a tuner to see what they can do.

I'm gonna cave and get a Sprint Booster. I only care about the bad throttle-by-wire tuning on my Truck. Oh well, I've heard OV Tune makes the V6 ping anyway, I can't imagine the 4 banger would be better.

That's good to know. Does it require premium fuel to avoid the pinging?

Not if you run the 87 Octane tune.

It looks like we might end up with at least 87,91, and 93 octane files once 1.05 drops for the V6. You of course need fuel to match the file you're running, since ignition is optimized for more power on the 91/93 tunes.

The 3.5L v6 pings / detonates like hell from the factory. Not even related to the tune, happens on stock trucks from faulty crank sensors.
