    Hi!
Thanks to you all for figuring this out and posting.
Got my new to me 2019 a couple months ago and have been trying to figure this out {was so easy in my 2014}.. I go exploring in the ADKs and need all the light i can get..

    my question is:
where is the: " ignition switched power via an add a circuit fuse tap in the interior fuse box " tapped from?
    any pic?

Sorry don’t have a pic. I tapped the “P. Outlet” fuse (cigarette outlet). That’s a 12v ignition switched fuse. Use an add a fuse tap.

Did this ever come to fruition? Was it a plug and play fog anytime mod? I am very interested if this is still available. Thanks!

Did you get the anytime fog with the separate switch or the one for just the fogs with highbeams?

    Yeah
I’ve managed to get fog lights anytime cutting only one wire and tapping 2 others. It’s also retained the dash indicator (except when high beams are on).
I did it with an N channel FET instead of a relay or the P channel FET method as this way only required cutting a single wire.

    N FET:
Gate - illumination source, I tapped into the dash light circuit at the clutch start button
Source - tapped M6_26 (BLUE) from the factory switch
Drain - CUT 1F_27 (tan) and hook to the truck side [not the ECU side, leave that floating]

I just used a random circuit board I had in my junk bin with a TO-92 footprint for the N FET but you could simply air wire it. Don’t forget the pull down resistor between source and gate to ensure it turns fully off.

That was the entire mod? No running power wires to the fogs?

If it's "anytime", you chose the dash illumination circuit why?

    Yeah
Yes, 3 wires behind the dash cubby. What’s in the 2 pictures it literally it!

Because that wasn’t what I wanted, if you wanted to use this method but have true anytime just connect the FET gate to switched accessory 12v. My desire was fogs with high beams and this accomplishes that.

Nice! You want to make another one of those for the sparky challenged? :D

    Yeah
I would be glad to however you can buy a non surface mount N-FET so you don’t have tiny delicate soldering to do. I just happened to have this FET and figured I’d slap it on the old PCB so it had the copper for heat sinking, not that it’s creating any heat being used as a switch like this.
N-MOSFETS are a dime a dozen if you wanted to source a through hole part for easier soldering.
    Edit here’s a good choice

I am sure there would be some demand, but if it is just soldering up to one component, I can pull that off. Can you toss up a link to the proper one?

    Thanks!

    Yeah
Looking at the data sheet this would be a great choice at >$4 from mouser electronics

    https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Vishay-Siliconix/SIHA22N60AE-GE3?qs=MLItCLRbWsxWrMye2VTGJQ==

Don’t forget you’ll want a 10k resistor between gate and source, any old 1/4w resistor will work but lmk if you want a mouser PN for that too. It’s not totally required and I’d bet money it’d work without one but good design practices tell us to have one in the circuit.

Do you need a diagram or is my first post adequate?

Yeah, I need all the help that I can get, but I did buy one of these from @Victory. I never got around to installing it due to the wire routing. Can that be repurposed for your version of the mod?

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the point of fog lights + high beams? Is it for slow driving in pitch dark where you want side illumination? In which case would ditch lights not be preferable?

The fog spec is very specific and meant to be most helpful in fog where high beams are a really bad idea.

So, this is just a way to get more than one use out of a light designed to meet a spec which is specifically for a single purpose?

For dark, rural roads when no one else is around. Max lighting. Fogs and low beams or fogs and parking lights in actual fog.

I definitely do not want ditch lights. :D

    Yeah
It won’t work, an N channel mosfet switches a negative circuit from a positive signal (What I’ve used), a P channel mosfet switches a positive circuit from a negative signal. With no more cut factory wires but a little more add-on wiring (one maybe two more wires) you could do this same method with a relay of you have one. SPDT (5-pin).

Thanks for the kid level explanation. I do appreciate it.

I will follow your method for the min amount of modding.

    Thanks!

I just jumped the high beam relay to the fog relay.

3rd Gens don't work like that. Zero gray wire mod possibilities.
