    Thanks for this!

Just wish there was a way to NOT cut the wires. Hmmm maybe @mesojdm and @DSIM can finagle something like that ECT mod.

Thanks Victory... I'm sure that's what he has and I also thought they looked a little different from the standard fogs. I'll have to take a closer look at them.

I was just wondering if this was possible, just put in led pods for fogs. Anybody else try this?

Just ordered some parts, I’m going to tackle this on Sunday, I don’t want to cut stock wires, but think I found a way around that.

@cdubray you say the blue wire is +12v when fog switch is off and 0v when switch is on?
It also looks like this is connected to +12v constant (the battery, not ignition controlled) It seems to me this would mean the lights would turn on when you turn the truck off, but obviously this can’t be correct? Am I missing something or should there be a switched ignition source somewhere?

Edit: nevermind I just checked and it looks like that blue wire is also an always on +12v even when the truck is off.

Yeah. I don’t believe that is for the actual fog light to work anytime. I believe that is for the halo to work with the DRL and then the fog light works like OEM. I could be wrong

So I’ve got it all hooked up, I got around cutting the stock wires by buying a new harness from Amazon:
    iJDMTOY (1) H11/H8 Relay Harness... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019J7XIGC?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
This has the connectors that will clip into stock fogs (though I did have to reverse the polarity for the Rigid Fogs). I taped off the stock fog harnesses and left them disconnected behind the fogs.

This also comes with a Relay so no need to buy that, but I did buy the resistor and P Channel MOSFET from the first post.

I have 2 MOSFET chips left but plenty of resistors left. The MOSFET chips have been wired up with a pigtail and the resistor $3.50 each for those, or $1 for resistors and I’ll throw in a spare.

I did connect it slightly different from the OP; instead of connecting to always on 12V I connected to ignition switched 12V so the fogs would turn off when ignition is off. I connected to the power outlet fuse with an add a fuse circuit on the inside circuit box.
I have edited the original wiring diagram made by @cdubray to show this.

Sent you a PM. However, if this new harness just takes place of the OEM harness, I think I’d rather use OP’s with your Ignition Switched 12V. I do not want to add another switch in my truck when I have a perfectly good switch already there. Is this the only other way of doing this? I haven’t even had time to try the 2nd gen wiring diagram like I had planned to do because I’ve been so swamped.

The factory switch still works I did not use the switch that came with that harness, I just wanted the wiring and H11 connectors so I could cut those up and didn’t have to cut up my stock wiring.

You don’t need the harness but you would need to buy a relay anyway and also cut stock wiring.

Really the only change I added to the OPs directions was hooking up the relay to ignition switched power via an add a circuit fuse tap in the interior fuse box so the lights would shut off when the truck shut off. Otherwise I just used different wiring to do the same thing.

The indicator on the dash only lights up when the headlights are on in parking or low beam mode, but the fog lights now switch on when headlights are off and also on with high beams (but the indicator won’t show)

If you connect it following the OPs diagram the lights won’t turn off when you shut off the truck, you would have to manually switch them off, with my edited version of his wiring diagram they will shut off when the truck is shut off even when the switch is on.

In addition to the harness with relay you will need a little extra wiring, maybe 6 feet, an add a circuit fuse tap, the MOSFET chip and resistor, some wire taps (I like positaps) and some butt connectors (I like heat shrink butt connectors) or solder and tape or heat shrink.

This is awesome! Great idea wiring the source to 12v ignition! Love it! And you don't have to cut wires with that harness! Awesome! Was no use to me though as I have aftermarket pods lol.. but will help others!

A few people have asked me to essentially put together a shopping list of what is needed to complete this.

    You will need;

    MOSFET P Channel chip
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MMYMA1O?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

15k resistor -PM me I’ll send you a couple for $1 shipped.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0185FIPIA?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

4 Pin Relay, I recommend getting this wire harness which will give you the relay, extra wiring, a fuse, a terminal to connect to the battery and H11 connectors so you don’t need to cut your stock wiring. (Just throw the included switch away as you won’t be using it)
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019J7XIGC?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Add a Circuit Fuse Tap with two 15amp fuses. I recommend Micro but mini will also work.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071NH98YN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1UBbCbSJSE2A2

You will also need some blue butt connectors (I recommend heat shrink butt connectors) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6WWKDD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_T2BbCbKPNRXSN

    And a Crimper/Stripper.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JNNWQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Q1BbCb4WYMRVG

A little extra wiring would be a good idea even if you buy the harness.
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D74RGVM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_v6BbCb7JGJT6H

These links are just examples, they may not be the best brands or best prices, so you may want to shop around a little still, but should give you an idea.

Sorry these are all sold, but if anyone needs resistors I’ll send them out for the price of a stamp and envelope.
