Literally my only “complaint” is the rattles but from my experienced, there’s less rattling in 3rd gens than 2nd gens. Most of my rattling is caused by me removing door panels and whatnot and messing up the clips.

I’ve never had a hunting issue, even though I had the dealer do the TSB anyway just to have the newest software.

Sometimes I wish Toyota hadn't made the interior so quiet. Would have drowned out the whine a lot better

Had mine since Jan of this year - 39K Miles! I've used this truck a lot and am very pleased - the size is perfect, fits on trails, handles well in mud, comfortable for business trips/luncheons, I appreciate the adaptive cruise control, love the storage under/behind the back seats...On and on. Its one of the few vehicles I had zero buyers regrets after I bought it (ALL vehicles now are too expensive, so it's relative)....and I've had a LOT of vehicles.

Neither does the diff whine in my 2019. I can hear it, but it's not annoying.

My '16 on the other hand, was very noticeable.

Understand that just because your '18 and my '19 are quiet, it doesn't mean that others are having the same experience.

I have an appointment next week for the stealership to look at the cyclic vibration I have in the drivetrain somewhere... there's no ignoring it.
Ironically, this '19 is better off the lot in a number of ways than my '16 was - but this problem I didn't have with the older truck!

Yes, i saw videos of guys with super loud diff howling, that would drive me nuts. Glad mine is ok.

Good luck with your driveline vibration!

I was driving around in my 2005 TRD Sport and knew a 3rd gen was my next truck the first time I saw one.
Ended up picking the same colour even. Lot's of issues in the 3rd gen forum but I imagine that's the nature of the interwebs.

I wanted taco in the first place years ago, but had to buy a ranger. Could not afford the taco.

You do realize that speaking positively about the 3rd gen violates the special super secret TW COC.

We are supposed to keep these comments to ourselves, since many established TW OG's get all butthurt at just the mention of how great these trucks are.

If I were you, I would quietly ask to have this thread deleted, and go about you business*.

    *sarcastic font

Great little truck, best truck I have owned in over 30 years of pickup truck ownership- true story.

I love my 2019 TRD Pro. This is my 3rd Taco. It might be a tad louder than my past ones (it seems because of the exhaust) but I has a lot more than my others had.

It’s my main daily driver and I passed on my beloved ES350 for her.
