You may not know about them, but there are significant differences between the Toyota and ARB differential cases (4 pinion VS 2 pinion among others):

It’s one of those things where saying something has 4 pinions, rather than 2 sounds stronger, but who knows if it is. Maybe 2 is stronger? I don’t know.

My comment is mainly to illustrate the Toyota E-locker is robust and proven. Considering the number of them put in trucks every year, if they were a weak component we’d hear a lot more about it, and the ARB is far from troublefree with fellas having issues with that little pipe braking inside, frozen or leaking air lines, compressor trouble etc. It takes some doing to have a robust Air Locker system, though for sure it’s a possibility.

Maybe it’s “6 of one / half a dozen of the other”.

I’m assuming he is being sarcastic. Lockers are one of my earlier mods I’m doing. That or a taco box. I’m going for more of a low speed build. Looks like you are going for more of a Baja build. LCA’s would be one of the last things I would get. Just my $.02

Great question! I have a TRD Sport also, but just want a rear locker. I just had the dual chamber air compressor installed in the left cubby storage of the truck bed. I will be running the air line to an ARB quick disconnect opposite of the trailer wire connection on rear bumper. BUT, now I’m not sure about the ARB locker. Several techs advised me to go E-Locker because of the air line, o-ring seal, etc. It APPEARS an E-Locker would be cheaper and get the job done. I have the switches in the overhead console already in and wired. Compressor works great.
