To that end, if I'm reading her posts correctly I think I would use a riv-nut in the lower hole.

 

The upper hole is threaded. The lower hole has a bracket attached to the A pillar but no threaded insert. The kit comes with a threaded "C" style clip.

Are you planning on strapping the jack to the grab handle, or use it as a lifting point?

Depends in the clip nut design. If it has full rolled threads (like the ones on the 2nd gen OE taillights), it can be stronger than a rivnut.

 

Me too. Very odd time to end a sale, I thought it was till midnight as well. I had some questions about the tailgate open/close and while waiting for an answer the sale ended.

It was announced all week and on the ad that it would end at 5pm. Everyone does there’s at different times. Some don’t even go into Monday and end on Sunday Night at the conclusion of the weekend. I thought I would at least include most of the day on Monday. I apologize that some thought it was cut short. If you were one that fell short by just a little I will extend a one time offer only if you send in your payment today I’ll honor the Cash Back this one time only even tho it was announced all week long and all weekend long that it was ending at 5pm and it was just an over site by you. However, I would like to do right by my customers and therefore I have no problem honoring the $25 cash back if you mail it in right away. I pretty much ordered everything, question about the $25 cash backs. Will that be sent with the product or was there a separate form to send back? Maybe I missed something during the transaction. I paid via PayPal from your site.

 

You need to fill out the form and send it back in with a receipt of your transaction.
