3rd Gen Tacoma Driver’s Side Grab Handle - CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION

Stupid question time! Is the passenger side handle not symmetrical top to bottom? When thinking about this mod in the past, I was sort of assuming that we'd just need the pillar trim and buy and flip over a Toyota right side handle.

Typically, the owner is responsible to ensure compatibility of all mods. Sort of like how the new OVT TT kit will not work with most winch bumpers. @KTJO 4x4 cannot possibly know what all will fit behind the trim.

The interface between the A-pillar trim and the dash is different on the 2nd gen.

The quickest solution is just to drill two holes in the A-pillar trim and mount an aftermarket grab handle (a plethora offered for FJs). However, that presents a bigger risk to proper airbag deployment than KTJO's solution.

 

This is strictly for color comparison, right? As for shape, my TRD Sport looks more like the one you have pictured as a SR/SR5.

 

Yes this is just for the color. As this is NOT my A-Pillar as in the message I state MY A-Pillar is missing due to it being with my Vendors. My A-Pillar is identical to the one on the Right. What I have attached here is my B-Pillars that I’m sending with the Grey A-Pillar.

 

I am thinking there is several different "grey" colors. My A pillar appears to be a light grey. My door has a combination dark grey and black with the A pillar being much lighter grey. My SR5 is a 2017 with Inferno as the outside color and cloth seats which are also grey. Don't know if different exterior colors have different interior colors.

The interior of my 2016 MGM SR5 is the same "light gray" as yours.

 

My '17 MGM Sport has the Graphite (AKA black) side pillars.

 

Yes. This is the one I have in the picture. It came off of a 2018 SR5 that has the Light Grey Interior on the top and then the Graphite Grey on the bottom.

 

Yup. It is the same. There are only two Interior Colors that I am aware of that the Tacoma and the Tundra have now

Appreciate your posting the grey versus black side-by-side I was wondering, is it dray grey or light grey, etc...I'll be ordering the black when they're ready...
