There is no MPG loss if you stay out of the skinny pedal, it's when you go past 0" of vacuum and start digging into boost that you lose MPG. Going up a steep hill or even incline requires 0% boost if you drop down some gears.

You may be surprised to find that you may actually even GAIN some MPG in the long term with this thing... True story.

I have been following Harrop since my old GTO days. They make OUTSTANDING products and this should wind up being no different. Great on them for releasing what promises to be a solid product. You can never go wrong with Supercharger boost. :D

It may be due to the fact that the JK uses a standard ICE engine and the 3rd gen Tacoma is using that Otto Atkinson cycle getup. There may be more frictional or parasitic losses there or it may just take more to get it moving than the standard ICE. Just making some educated guesses here, as I claim to be no expert in the subject matter when it comes to Otto Atkinson engines. :notsure:

    I must've missed 60 minutes, but I didn’t see the price for this set-up?

Not that it matters though, I’m sure those that pay the stealer $15k for a $1k lift will have no problemo paying whatever…

    Carry on

The 3.5L engine is a standard ICE. The “simulated Atkinson cycle” is achieved using variable valve timing like any other car has had in the last 20 years. The “Atkinson cycle” is not achieved through linkages or geometry like in a true Atkinson engine, but by delaying the closing of the intake valves using VVT. The ECU can chose to enable that or disable that at any time, and it does. It only enables the Atkinson mode when it is advantages to do so for MPGs.

Ahh. I was always under the impression it was a true OAC engine. Very cool. Carry on then, don't mind my edumacated guesses.

I'm not familiar with non factory turbos.
Do superchargers usually have an intercooler?
It hurts my engineer soul to add boost and not take away unwanted heat lol.

IME, additional oil cooling is also a good idea, as well as cooling system tweaks.

Would this supercharge void any warranty? If I can recall correctly, there was a company that used to make superchargers approved by the manufacturer etc.

It comes with its own powertrain warranty if installed within so many miles (within the manuf warranty i believe) and by a certified mechanic. Atleast thats what magnuson says and im guessing they are using the same lawyer to write it.

It's probably around 60-70 more hp and torque at the wheels which is huge for a truck that puts down say 210-220 in stock form. It's like putting a healthy lt1 engine under the hood.
