Well I wasn't convinced of the 3rd gen until I heard they're offering the DCLB in the TRD Offroad Package and then I just saw these pics from Toytec. I'm sold. Anyone want to buy my 12' DCLB Sport 4x4?!

Take my SR to trade in. LOL. Friend of mine just put a deposit down at Servco for a 4x4 Sport. He was told end of October they will come in.

looks like those STT Pro's are gonna have some fenders for lunch if that truck ever goes off pavement.

I agree. 35s don't clear the fenders even with a 6" lift. Since TOYTEC already installed a lift on one, my guess is the suspension is the same as 2nd gen. In reality, they did a partial remodel: new front/rear end, motor, & tranny but left the interior/cab/doors relatively the same

That's why I am left wondering why people are calling it a third gen Tacoma... Same frame, suspension, and cab. Just another facelift/ refresh with a new motor. Toytec said its the old suspension pieces bolted up and that a lot of trimming needs to be done still.

The thing that I really noticed and am envious about is the third brake light. Are those cargo lights on the side? I always wondered why the Tacoma never had those...

I like that and was under the impression that the tacoma will be an all new truck.
I wonder how hard it is to do a 2016 front clip on an older truck. would bed bolt straight up too?

it would look weird with the top part of the tailgate sticking up. It may be do able but whos gonna be the first one to find out.
more and more I look at the pics of the new tacoma, it kinda does look styled like a ram. The bed also looks bulkier but it may just be the taillights.

I still have a couple 79-83 tailgates. I wanted to cut out the toyota part and make it on to a 2005up tailgate.

Contemplating it. To put similar aftermarket products that I have now in a 2016 would be $$$$$ especially with Servco prices on high demand Tacoma. It's actually cheaper to buy one in Cali and ship it here.
