Hello 3rd gen tacoma owners, It’s bean almost 10 years with the 3rd gen tacoma and it has proven it’s reliability, I think it’s time to ask thees questions. Note that It’s a daily driver but It’s not my only car.

Dirt king vs camburg LT Prerunner setup with spring under kit and bypass shocks front and back

I have seen a LT Dirt king setup with their spring under kit and I know how good it is, However I haven’t seen a full LT camburg setup and their spring under kit, in their site they have 2 spring under setup, race setup, and prerunner setup, I personally think the only difference is the leaf spring streangth so I wish to see pictures and videos showing LT camburg builds.

Also, can I build a custom bed cage to add extra 2 or 3 inches to put a bigger bypass so that i get more up travel, If I remember correctly dune serpent uploaded a video of a broken bed cage and he said he was feeling more up travel.

Now for the best part, stroker for the 2GR-FKS.

I accidentally ran into a site that sells performance parts for the 2GR-FKS
    https://www.monkeywrenchracing.com/
I need an opinion on building a 2GR-FKS, both NA and forced induction applications.

For a NA application, looking for 400 whp and 450 ish torque, and I want to set the rev limiter to 8000 rpm

and for the forced induction application, looking for 600 whp and 620 torque, and I want to set the rev limiter to 7500 rpm if possible

for both NA and forced induction applications I want to ditch the stock cylinder heads and the stock valve-train

I already have an experienced tuner
    ——————————————————
with all that power I’m going to need to rebuild the transmission which is Automatic, I might send it to https://www.importperformancetrans.com/
Please give me a better option if you have one.
    ——————————————————
And I want to put a camburg full flaoter rear end with 4.56 gear ratio and arb air locker front and back.

I know I’m asking for alot but I still want to keep it reliable and use all the functions it has

    It’s a 2019 tacoma trd off-road 4wd

    any ideas?

    Its Friday again :)

An LS Swap makes more sense if you actually want to drive it
    and have it dependable.

To be honest LS3 is way easier but I’m just exploring both options, thank you though

"reliable" and "power" are polar opposites.

If you want a reliable 400-600hp, you're best off with a fully built motor for 1000+ hp.

Just a custom-built motor and tuning will likely crest $20-30k, not including a compatible and suitably beefed up transmission. and then, as they say ' the last 20% is always the longest and hardest', fully integrating the new motor into the truck to be 100% will very likely take another $5-10k, unless you're an electronics wizard and can do it yourself, but then you wouldn't be asking strangers online. And that's only the motor/trans. Adding big wild custom suspension work on top of it would only increase the costs even further.

Really, this is a $25-40k truck on any given day-- and the used market is going to expect that kind of pricing no matter how wild or custom you make it.

Are you comfortable blowing $80-150k on this idea, with the high likelihood that you won't even be able to drive it while spending 'house-sized money' for another 3-5 years minimum while all the work is being performed? Are you comfortable spending that kind of money on something that one bad other driver can ruin in an instant? Have you priced out private insurance options to self-insure for your deemed value beyond the market value of typical Tacoma's--because no insurance company will just hand out $100k+ on a $25k truck because their insured driver forgot to yield at a stop sign...

It's a fun discussion exercise, not all that different than when in high school, I wanted to take my $2000 front wheel drive Chrysler Lebaron, and make it LSx powered and rear wheel drive. But then new cars started looking shinier, and I realized that it's a $2000 Chrysler. Even if I put a $5k LS in it and did everything right with the modifications, no one will ever pay me $10k for it.
