They don't want to deal. Go to another dealer that is willing to reason with you.

Been to 5 dealerships. 1 dealership was selling a 2019 cheaper than an 2018. The same exact truck same model and same options. Well, the only
difference was 1 had carpet floor mat and the other had the rubber floor mats. But there was an $850 difference . the 2019 was cheaper.

    I'll keep looking.

Currently negotiating a 2019 TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB 4X4 AUTO LB (Cement) with no other options at all, but they won't go below $34.9k + taxes/tags (totaling $36.5k OTD for me). It does require them to do a fairly local dealer swap to get this specific trim, color, and long-bed combo; and they also insist that there aren't any TP or TP+OF versions of this specific combo anywhere in the U.S. at the moment -- in other words, I'd have to do a custom build to get the TP version of this combo. Without the 2019 numbers readily available, this decision has seemed a little tougher than usual for me. I already put down a $500 deposit to initiate the deal, but I'm second-guessing it while I wait for them to secure the vehicle...lol...shit.

What do you guys think? Good deal, or not?

Overpriced...what State are you in? I was able to get a new 2018 Cement DCLB OR TP OF tint and Toyota floor mats for just under that OTD.

I'm in NC. I would kill for a deal like the one you got on your 2018, but these guys are already acting like I'm robbing them -- this price is after 3 weeks of negotiating.

According to them, there aren't any new 2018 Cement DCLB OR's in the entire Eastern half of the U.S., and even the 2019 longbeds in cement are scarce as hell.

    Now I'm really second-guessing this purchase...damn.

They are scarce..."on-lot". Was told I got the last unclaimed 2018 Unicorn in the Gulf States Region and tagged it in July. I've bought many vehicles from this same Dealership over a long period of time however. Buying a 2019 gives you the time and options. Unfortunately you are in the Southeast Region and they don't play well with Customers...in Service and/or Sales...and no Region dealer-swaps with other Regions. Fortunately you can buy out of Region and pay your TT&L in your State of Residence (there might be a small "local" inventory tax though). All Dealerships have the ability to wave hold-backs and some other fees too. Talk directly with the "Manager" of Fleet (not someone pretending to be) and let them know you are ready to buy...not just a "what-if" or "looky-lue". Saves a lot of time and B.S. and remember, it's your money not theirs. I attached a Toyota Regional Map and a cars.com (using a Charlotte zip) link to narrow your search, but you can also order directly through your Dealership "of choice" too. They don't like to because they need to move lot vehicles first, but they will. All the trucks come from Texas (1st digit VIN 5) or Baja (1st didgit VIN 3).

Apologies as my intent was not to mess with your plan, but you can get a better deal.

Where are you located? Texas? I'm in CA trying to work on either of yours, albeit a SB for around $36.5k OTD. Have been getting first initial quotes of $34,221 plus tax and fees on a 2019 Cement DCSB TRD OR 4x4 AT after all discounts and rebates. I'm new to this so please excuse my lack of knowledge and thanks in advance.

Alright guys, I'm getting rid of my 4Runner. I am curious if 37500k is a resonable ask for a a TRD OFF-ROAD DCSB auto with the tech package and Premium package and door seals and all weather floormats. The list MSRP is $41,342 with the $1000 off from the factory incentive. I'm just curious on your thoughts and expertise on this. I am planning on trying to sell my 4Runner outright. I just don't think they'll give me what I want for it in trade, which is $30k. I mean it has 42,000 mi trd pro wheels off-road tires, n-fab steps, and Icon Stage 2 Lift and UCAs. Do you guys think $30k is resonable for the 4Runner

I just paid $35,400 for that exact truck with a manual transmission. I would take a real honest assessment of the condition of your 4Runner and then check out kbb.com. I know that they'll really try to rip you off with the trade in value. They started me with an offer of $10,000 for my cr-v, ended up giving me $12000. They have it listed on their website for $15000. They probably won't get $15,000, but still...

Thanks I will definitely look into Kbb and NADA. It’s good to know I can try and get them down a bit more hopefully.

Has anybody tried using Costco’s auto program?

just remember, any aftermarket parts do not factor into trade in. trade in price is based on only oem options/packages (most dealers i know will not give you anything close to what you think those aftermarkets parts are worth, better to take them off and sell them yourself).

i know my limited 2014 4runner trades in around 30k with 61k mileage currently on kbb/edmunds with only factory options.

I tried costco's auto program when i originally started looking. It was nice in that it cut out some of the bargaining process, so that when I walked in the door I already had good price on the truck. I didn't end up purchasing through it though because that dealer didn't have the specific truck I was looking for. I was able to negotiate a similar deal though.

Good to know. I think I’ll be trying it out this next go round. Several of the dealerships here in town have what I’m looking for and have them in more than one truck so that’ll be good. Thanks for the help.

Yeah I’ve been wondering if I should uninstall my lift and out the stock suspension back on. I also have my original SR5 wheels that came with it. Then I could just put on my TRD wheels I have on it onto the new taco. Thanks for the advice!
