Can somebody help me figuring out how Truecar got their invoice prices? They conflict with the invoice prices provided in this thread, but they match up with the MSRP price.

Looking at 2016 Tacoma Sr5 DCLB 4x4 with towing package.

    Invoice MSRP
    7570 $29,237 $31,560
    TowPackage $579 $650
    Dest $900 $900
    Total $30716 $33,110

The MSRP of $33,110 matches Truecar
The Invoice of $30,716 doesn't match True car. They got $31,294. What gives?

Should TDA be part of the invoice negociation?

They will tell you it's non-negotiable. Not all dealers charge it, so it isn't something that Toyota is charging them.

also invoice for your region may not match up with Toyota's invoice.

in my paperwork, the dealer invoice pricing is actually higher than Toyota invoice pricing but lower than MSRP pricing.

as has been stated before, what Toyota charges the regional port and what the regional port charges the dealer my vary.

Anyone know if the region or distribution plant makes a different on the invoice vs MSRP pricing? For example, I was told from the dealer I've been working with is that he can give me invoice price +$500 (+TT&L obviously). When looking at the "invoice" my dealer got from Gulf State (port where vehicle is being sent from), the prices match the MSRP prices referenced in this thread to the number - which is obviously more than paying the "invoice" pricing listed here.

Basically.. is he trying to pull a fast one on me and call these MSRP prices are "Invoice price" or could they vary based on the plant?

Edit: "Invoice" my dealer is referencing from Gulf State-

the list shows invoice that Toyota charges the regional and Toyota's MSRP. outside of that, invoice prices the regional charges the dealer can vary from Toyota invoice to under Toyota MSRP. all dealers will have the same Toyota MSRP no matter the region.

Clear - So, Toyota MSRP is the same across the board.

The prices I'm being quoted as "invoice" pricing appear to match Toyota MSRP. Could that mean the region is charging the dealership full suggested price for these options and that's being passed on to me? Or the more likely scenario, me being a skeptic when it comes to sales, that the dealer is claiming this is the reduced "invoice" price so he can make a couple more grand on the sale?

There's a tiny picture in the Tacoma dealer brochure. Looks pretty much the same and the Gen 2, even with a sunroof underneath it. Picked up one today when checking with the dealer I'm working with. I can snap a picture of the picture if it's helpful.

    There's a pic at http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/accessories/exterior

Looks identical to the previous generation Tacoma factory rack.
