First dealer returned my offer - he said no way will anyone do a deal on this truck at this time. Said the best he would be willing to do is $1,200 off of MSRP. That includes TDA but not documentation fees of $360 or tax, title, registration (of course).

    That is for the
    7582 - LIMITED DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO
    TO - Towing Package
with a bunch of other accessories (including black oval tube step and tonneau cover)

He also said that all dealers get hit with TDA and not to believe what people say on the internet since it's a Toyota charge that all dealers MUST pay.

So, I'm waiting to see what the next dealer comes back with.

I assume $500 over invoice is unrealistic here in NJ... but is it unrealistic to expect to pay NO MORE THAN $1,000 over invoice?

Tax, registration & licensing not included, of course.

    No trade in, cash buyer...

Dealer #2 is stating $1,700 off of MSRP.

If I can get down to $2,000 I'll pull the trigger.

As a reference - the original spread for my exact build was around $3,450.

    First post.

I am in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Considering a DCSB 4x4 Manual Transmission with Tow and Premium Package. I tried the following:

    1) Local fleet salesman for my company's credit union quoted $34,825.
    2) A quick TrueCar quote pulled in $34,432.
    3) I also did a Costco quote, but have to go the dealer to see what they received and are willing to do.

I would have thought that, given I am asking for a manual, that the package would have come in much lower. The fleet salesman, who seemed very straight forward, said, according to his five-state area search, only two had been special ordered (and likely received), and that I could realistically expect to wait 2 or 3 months to receive the order.

So, thoughts on these prices? I think I remember others getting lower bids for this package. Are the mountain states a better place for me to search (I can find cheap airfare).

Looked at a Quicksand DCOR Prem/Tech with mats and tow pkg. Stickered at $37,819. Said he'd get real aggressive on pricing if I was ready to buy. I'm still on the fence with the color. QS seemed to look better on the 4R Pro, plus I'm not convinced the 4R Trail Premium isn't the better way to go. And then get the grey.

Is the DCOR you're looking at a SB and 4x4? Auto or manual transmission?

SB Auto 4x4. Sorry. Sounded like he'd knock a couple grand off.

I've got mine coming to a dealer in south Dallas (on I20) who has said he's willing to sell at Invoice. We'll see what happens when the truck gets here from SA.

Rick, did you order a 4x4 manual or automatic? If you don't mind me asking, what kind of deal do you think you got (depending on what you negotiated with the dealer)?

I ordered the 4x4 auto OR package. Everything from the base price and every option is at invoice. I know I've got a couple of hundred coming at me in dealer fees but unless they hit me with something unseen I'm feeling real good about the deal. Now they're trying to undermine me on my trade but that's still a negotiating point.

RickS: So, you ordered one and you're just waiting on it to arrive? If that's true, surely they wouldn't change the price on you once it arrives, right?

You're right. I'm just expecting some dealer fee to pop up that they forgot to mention. I'm just not very trusting of dealers in general.

I just saw a dealer's incoming vehicles, which included a Black TRD DCOR with Manual trans. Not sure on the options. These seem quite rare.

Don't understand why the Tacoma 2016 brochure says you can order an SR With A 6-speed Manual transmission?
