I've checked with 3 of my nearest dealers but none of them have one. I'm actually not ready to pull the trigger on one just yet though, so not a big deal. I just wanted to see it just to make me want it more :) I'm thinking around March or so to pick one up and by then I'm sure they will have more inventory.

every dealer i talked to(Dallas) starts at MSRP, thats what they are supposed to do......they tell you how popular they are and how little inventory there is, be patient and you shouldnt have any problems getting offers at $500 plus invoice....thats where i am, now just need to see the sheet with the fake invoice price and $500 that shows almost MSRP and then we will start the game again....seems if you are patient the dealers will come through with a fair offer

Heh, so the dealer will make a fake invoice sheet to show you? Are you ordering your truck or getting off the lot?

I used the Costco price from Toyota of Burleson and showed it to Toyota of Fort Worth. They beat it easily and got the truck for me from Vandergriff Toyota in about 1 week. Easiest transaction I ever had and a good price. Come over to Fort Worth and buy, they're selling right around invoice.

    Hey guys;
I am new to this site. I stumbled onto it when looking for more pricing info for tacomas. I am looking to buy a 2016 TRD sport, V6, 4WD, long bed. Only thing I want to add is the towing package. As far as I have read from a brochure from my local dealer, it comes standard with the entune premium audio with integrated Navigation and App suite. I am a consumer reports member, and using the included build and buy service (they use true car now I guess), I got the following:
    True car estimate: $32,214
    Tow pkg: $ 579
    TDA Fee: $ 627
    Dest. Fee: $ 900
    Total: $34320

I want to go in with this and tell them I will buy it for that minus the stupid TDA. That would total $33693 before TTL. Is this a good deal? I see invoice price for truck and tow pkg is $31814 +$579 totaling $33293. This would give them a profit of $400 plus the 2% holdback off msrp $686.80 giving them a grand profit of $1086.80. Is this a good deal if I can get it? If not please let me know what is.
    Thanks,
    Mav

They aren't going to take that deal. They have already paid that TDA fee to Toyota and they will not get it back like Hold Back. That cuts 627 dollars from their profit. I'm surprised their TrueCar price is that low. Take it and run. You are getting the tow package for free. Also, if they have it on the lot, it will most likely have exhaust tip and carpet floor mats. 90 and 209 extra.

They have one there on the lot that doesn't have the mats or tip. Even if they did I would tell them to take them out/off. I have read in previous pages that the TDA is bs and that people aren't paying it. So why should I have to pay for it. You are saying that the dealer already paid this in when they got the truck or something?

Dealers and Toyota get together and budget an advertising plan for each region. Toyota funds the advertising you hear on the radio and see on TV when there is not a dealership advertised. Toyota pays for it out of pocket as they purchase advertising. Every vehicle Toyota makes is tagged with a TDA fee, no matter what, to pay Toyota back. The Dealers pay this when they purchase the trucks from Toyota or regional distribution like SET or GST. The dealer has already paid Toyota 600+ dollars for the TDA and it is on top of the invoice that is listed in this thread. They are not going to give you a price within a few hundred dollars of invoice and not charge you TDA. Their holdback will barely cover the TDA if you buy at invoice.

The people who aren't charged TDA are the ones who are paying near, at, or above MSRP. There is around 2200-2500 dollars between invoice and MSRP on most models and dealers will eat the TDA if you buy around MSRP

Okay-I understand what you are saying. So if I get close to that price of $34320, I can't ask to get the tda back. What if I try to get them to give it to me for a price of $34000 that would probably be a really good price right? I mean that is only $80 over invoice price. That would give them a profit of $767 plus whatever other incentives they get that none of us will really ever know. I want to go on Friday and get this truck, so let me know your thoughts. Thanks for your continued help.

just got my TRD OR 4x4 for 34579 with tonneau and tow+ttl, 37140 OTD.....Invoice was 34446, which im sure included TDA but I feel good about it....best deal i was getting by far.....got everything a I wanted and nothing i didnt.... Cowboy Toyota in Dallas, Chris and Art were easy to work with, no BS......I agree with other posts, if you go in and ask for 500 over invoice they will give you an invoice price that you can verify to a certain extent.....if you go in to buy the truck without a plan im sure they will knock TDA off MSRP.....I have been researching and lurking here for about a month and was about to move to a 2wd, but i held out and finally got a deal i felt good about.....FWIW

Edit to previous post.....called me this morning after running CC for deposit and mgr wouldnt let him do it...told him to refund...bummer

The reality driving pricing currently is that the dealers are selling everything they get onto the lot way before the vehicle actually arrives. It is even a problem lining up a vehicle to test drive. That is not a strong negotiating position for the buyer, so good luck pushing through special requests. I took delivery of my inferno DCSB at 4x OR this week at $ 1100 off MSRP and considered that a good deal. My wait time was two weeks.

Has anyone out there attempted to sell back or get a Dealer to take back the factory Tonneau and swap the bed rails? The after a month my dealer's telling me that in the Gulf States if you want either tech package on a TRD that you automatically get the tonneau.

dealers tell me tonneau has to come from the port,,,,the pins have to be factory installed, so i doubt if they will take it back. seems like a great way to sell a 2000 pkg to get a tonneau.....

Thanks for the insight. So these pins, they're somehow bolted into a solid point behind the composite bed?
Different question - Can someone school me on the use of the word "port" here. I familiar with oceane ports and aerial ports but assuming this truck is coming out of San Antonio and I live on the outskirts of Dallas - what port are we talking about?

Everything coming to the gulf states region goes through Houston port distribution center. That's where regional add-ons are installed (Texas Edition, shield packages, and junk like that.)

port is just what the dealer said....i think thats where they create the packages with wheels and such, or add ons like steps and tonneau.....could be coming from mex

the pins are almost like a door latches, very secure into the bed rails, i think toyo website has pics

where around dallas are you? are you looking? and have you found a decent dealer who has an ounce of honesty? i keep getting 'yes i can do that' and then they never call back
