My understanding is you will not be able to get rid of either one of those fees. The dealer pays both

Newbie here.Looking to buy a new 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 double cab with the 6 speed manual tranny. Was at the first stealer last night, they had nothing in stock, gave a bunch of BS about a certain 1 they might be able to get, funny how a 500 mile search on the net couldn't find that VIN #.Did find app.33 trucks within 250 miles of us however. My question is :Are these trucks in such high demand that dealers can try and get top dollar? My husband always told the Chevy dealers he'd only pay $500 over invoice and was always successful. Would appreciate any replies and if anybody knows what the actual invoice price on this truck is, that would be GREAT!!!
    Thanks

Have you tried to order & tried other dealers? I've searched for dlb cab 2wd sport within 500 mi, found some but not the color/pkg i want. I emailed a dealer that i was referred to by my Honda Dealer to see what they can order for me. They are related, the Toyota Dealer is not in a lrg town. I'm hoping he can order what i want with out paying msrp. I know they have to make a profit but i refuse to pay msrp. I'll wait until the availability is better & dealers are wanting so much.

2wd manual might not be very popular.....special order should be same price.....no more than 500 over invoice...check original post for invoice price and then add del fee, TDA, and some holdback and that should give you ana idea of what to pay

I won't speak with absolute authority, but from what I've seen in automotive searches for new vehicles, manual trans are hard to come by. I was surprised to hear that a lot of dealers don't stock high inventory of 4X4, but I didn't seem to have that problem here. I would have preferred to get the long bed (coming from full size trucks, 6' is short to me but it is what it is), but they didn't have anything with a long bed that they could find any time soon so I was going to have to order and wait. I'm keeping my HD2500 with the 8' bed so the 5.5' bed wasn't that big of a deal.
Sorry to divert, but good luck finding the manual. You may have to special order.

lol for the longest time I only thought there were 2 bed sizes.

then I found out, there is :

    5.5
    6
    6.5
    8

    Tacoma uses : 5.5 and 6
    Domestic full size use : 5.5, 6.5, 8

I couldn't imagine parking a 8 ft bed size with a extended crew cab, that would require a CDL license :)

    j/k

I priced a dbl cab,2wd Sport, jbl, predator steps, tonneau, tow, carpeted mats. MSRP $36,894, Dealer cost including frt., $34933.83. What you see on TW here is pretty close. The dealer I went wanted $34000.00. In the dealer cost there are several $'s added like hold back, pio holdback, financial reserve. Almost $3000.00 in hold back for the dealer.

Has anyone had any luck with a dealer honoring the True Car price?

What deal did you get ?

I went back into my True Car certificate and it created another one at a higher price for the same vehicle.

I got a True Car cert through my employer that showed roughly $1700 off MSRP. Dealer told me to throw that away since they have to pay $300 to TC for referring you. I got a way better deal than what True Car had listed anyway.

There's only 3 configurations that offer a manual (SR AC 4cyl, TRD OR DCSB v6, and TRD Sport DCSB v6) so people who want manuals are more than likely going to go with one of the TRD options. Very limited supply of manual options on a limited supply of trucks since they're new mean it will be difficult to find what you're looking for. Not sure why Toyota only has 3 configs with manuals whereas autos have about 10...

I don't need a TRD so that really leaves a 4cyl access cab for me, neither of which I want. I'll be getting a full size truck if I'm forced to get an auto.

Thought I'd join in and share this info!!
If anyone is in the VA-DC area check out some of the deals from this dealer almost $3k off MSRP! I'm originally from that area but living in LA the dealers here are adding $3-5k extra on top the MSRP! I think I'd rather buy the truck in VA and drive it cross country lol!!!! What do you think?

Actually 4 models with a manual. You left off the TRD Sport AC v6 (model 7559). But yes, manuals are very limited.
