invoice is good.....some really good deals reported here but not many. seems like 2k off a 36k msrp is decent.....if you use the OP on this thread and add all the del fees and TDA, some holdback, thats your starting point

I have not pulled the trigger. I have been somewhat hesitant due to the deals I'm seeing others getting.

I guess I'm like you La. guys. I'm in touch with another Dealer here in Ar. They seem to be willing to work with me more than Caldwell Toyota. I don't have a time line to buy. I'm hoping March. I'll post more once I have more info.

What y'all think about posting a thread on " What you paid for your truck and Where?" Pics of deals would help.

I walked out, they never gave me a selling price. I wouldn't commit, I wanted the OTD price, couldn't get it.

Go to Courvelle Toyota in Opelousas and ask for Aaron Courvelle and tell him Marcus sent you. He will get you the best deal! His dad owns the place.

Newby here. So I ordered a TRD ORDC LB P&T non JBL package last week. Dealer took $500 deposit which I verified is fully refundable. I can't wait to hear that they started building it. I'm curious. Should I have negotiated price before ordering? Sales guy "made it seem" like I had to wait until the vehicle came in to talk price.

I'm in upstate NY. I know the truck is truly in demand, but I get the feeling they keep supply of TRD OR down intentionally here so they make you feel like you have to pay MSRP. I'm worried that I won't be able to negotiate price when it comes time to deal. Also they said they would likely have to have mine built in a different region due to my request for LB. They had a sweet looking red TRD ORDC SB, but I really want the LB. Plan to get a roll n lock cover and want the packing space for camping trips and vacations.

Sheez, I almost went Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Glad I waited for the Gen3.

Yes, you should have negotiated price before ordering. But, you can negotiate price now. You can keep shopping. I did not end up buying the truck I had on order. I found one in stock someplace else a few weeks later and was able to negotiate the same price. I just had the original dealer refund my deposit. Once you have some other prices, you can use those to work on the price of the truck you have on order.

By waiting to negotiate until the truck in on the lot they are setting up a scenario where the pressure on you, which is a standard negotiating tactic. That way you can emotionally commit to the truck (Oh man! It's right there! The seats are so nice! I want to take it home and be done with the waiting and shopping and hassle!) and they will say "we have a waiting list of people ready to buy the truck if you don't take the deal." Both of those things, emotional involvement and time pressure, are proven ways to get someone to do something they might otherwise not.

If you go out and get other deals, you can at least put the pressure back on them: Match this deal or I will take my business to the other guys and you won't get a commission. Now in SoCal, they would just laugh and sell it to the line of dudes willing to pay MSRP or more. Hopefully you have a better local market than here.

Also, You want to get a temp VIN and be sure the truck you have ordered is allocated to them. Otherwise, you really only have a registered desire to buy a certain build-out, you don't really have a truck on order. That's where I was with the first dealer, so sometimes you have to go that way, but it's best if you can get a truck that's actually allocated.

    Good luck.

$34,201 TRD OR DC SB Non JBL Tow Package and Bed Mat Quicksand. Probably not the deal of a century, but according to one of the searches I did it was a little less than average for this truck. Maybe you'll do better, but I'm not complaining. I owned a 94 ford ranger until 03, owned my 03 HD 2500 8' bed and still have it for towing/hauling. I'll sell it when we are done with our 5th wheel probably. And I'll own this one probably until it has well over 100K miles on it. I generally put about 9 - 10K miles per year on my trucks. Maybe this will help some of you. This is in the Kansas City market.

Texasbrons: When you say non-JBL, do you mean the Prem & Tech package minus JBL. Or, did you not get the Prem & Tech for that price?

Hopefully you can zoom enough to see it. No premium tech. It only offered a few creature comforts that I didn't feel were worth the cost. We'll that and this truck was already specced and being delivered to another dealership. They diverted it to KC.
Anyway, like I said, not the deal of a lifetime, but I think it was fair.
