I recently ordered a Quicksand Toyota Tacoma and is having second thought about the color. I'm about 12 days (6/28) away from the truck being built. I called my dealership today and asked them put in a change order from Quicksand to Black. The salesman told me it is not very likely for Toyota to accept the change order. Does anyone know the deadline for Toyota to accept changes before truck production?

Note: I told the dealership that I don't really care if it delay the process.

The problem is that the truck will be built no matter what. You cannot dictate changes on short notice. If you don't want this one tell them to build you a different one in black. It might take a while for them to have a truck in allocation to modify though.

I did let them know that I would not mind waiting a little longer for the truck. I don't think 12 days is too much of short notice.

Many thanks for the feedback on the question - I was able to raise a local dealership rep via chat and was assured that I can get all but the sunroof in a non-Limited package. My suspicion is that they just want to lure me in with a promise that cannot be delivered....

This forum and all the members have been VERY valuable with my decisions on how to build out my new Taco....MANY THANKS TO ALL!!!

The sunroof is part of the Premium and Tech package, if they can do everything else, there shouldn't be any reason you don't get the sunroof (or moon roof technically). Unless I'm missing something? And either way, if you're going for all the bells and whistles, I'd definitely get that package!

Doesn't seem like too bad of a price. Might try going back and forth with the other dealer one more time to try and get another hundred or two.

Don't add the 360. 333 is Invoice price increase, and 360 is MSRP price increase.

So I'd say ~$638 below invoice

Thanks for clearing that up. $600 below invoice. Is anyone getting anything better or am I just tire kicking now?

I would ask the dealer to send you an OTD price and to itemize all of the line items so you can see exactly what you are paying. Takes the guess work out of it and you won't have any surprises.

The price looks like a good deal. I have the TRD OFF Road 4x2 DCSB. I paid 33,100 Out The Door. If your willing to pay the extra for the Premium package and 4wd then go for it. It really just depends on how you are going to use the truck. My 4x2 has the push button rear differential lock for those just in case areas on a trial.

Thanks. At the time of this writing, the MSRP for 7545 ($32460-), before the $900 D,P & H fee, is still what's listed on Toyota's website

    7545 - TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 M/T............ $ 30072 | $ 32460

That looks like a great deal, I would jump on that. What dealer in MA? I'm in CT and waiting for a DCLB I ordered from a local dealer here but getting impatient after 2 months of waiting and no word of a build date. Dealer told me 1-4 more months. Wonder if any other dealer would be able to provide quicker or if I should just wait

First timer here who has been lurking for awhile. Looking to purchase my first Taco, but inventory has been drying up in a hurry in NC recently.

Began some email communication with local dealer and they're already playing games - hiding prices behind website, asking me to come into the dealer before talking prices.

They've quoted me a price of $39,908 for a 2016 TRD OR Short Bed Double Cab 4x4 V6 Auto. Attached are the exact options on the build.

Can anyone help with invoice/MSRP price breakdown? I am specifically looking for OR DCSB 4x4 V6 Auto with tech with JBL and tow package. Not really looking for any of the other upgrades, but if I can get a killer deal, I'm all for it.

    Any help/negotiating tips are appreciated!

Yeah. This truck has all kinds of crap in it and by crap I mean options to drive the price up. You'd be better off hitting up other dealers and having a truck built. The sticker on this truck was similar to mine but I got mine for 36900. If they're charging you full price it's time to walk on this dealership. Use the first post on here to price everything out. That will give you the invoice price. If you can get the truck for within $500 of that price and you're happy with the truck then go for it.

Thanks for the help! There's no way I'm dropping anywhere near $40k. And if I were, I'd be doing it on the TRD Pro in a few months.
