$2555 off sticker is what I just got. It seemed anything more than 2k off has been a "good deal" on these??
    MSRP $39,848
    Paid - $37,313 before TTL

    DCSB 4X4 OR w/JBL, tow,tonneau, floor mat/sills...

    It seemed good....

Any news on when the 2017s are going to be at the dealership? I saw in here someone said late July, early August...

Wondering if I should wait for 2017s or get a deal on a 2016..

Good luck on "getting a deal on a 2016" and I mean that sincerely. From what I've seen, there's not an abundant supply of 16's to choose from.

I was wondering the same thing, but when I talked to my dealer they told me that the stock is really low especially for what I want like zero in a six state search.

So looks like I'm waiting on '17 plus I didn't want to break my pet peeve of buying a first year vehicle.

Yep, I am not in a hurry, Wife's Suby has to go in for a little body work before we sell it. I can wait.

Curious about the grille on the front, some have the horizontal pattern and some have that other mesh design. Is it model based then?

So I'm overseas right now and I'm going to order a new Tacoma online. When I'm ordering one, should I state that I'm paying only invoice and not a penny more? Or should I be more lenient? Ive never ordered a vehicle before. Only went to a lot and picked out what was on hand.

you should email at least 100 dealerships and ask to pay invoice and not a penny more. I would guess a few East Coast dealers will reply with infromation or offers. All other dealers will give you some canned reply about pricing and demand.

There will be many, if not all that will quote the dealership invoice, which has a tremendous amount of fat. There are no easy steps in getting a good deal. Make up the exact description you are looking for and request a complete price less TTL

Thanks. I'm in Colorado so I think I'll start with the dealerships near my homemade see what they can offer. I've heard from Tacoma owning friends that the dealers in my area aren't easy to work with but I assume a large down payment might sway them.

Actually, a large down payment will have the opposite effect. Dealers make big bucks through their finance office so a large down payment will mean less for them to finance.

I paid cash for my truck and the dealership actually tried to add an extra $300 to the price when they found out they wouldn't be financing. Cash buyers are not as attractive as they used to be

If you're smart, you will not discuss any financing until you've settled on a purchase price. Them make them compete with other banks for competitive financing

Yeah, you need to focus on getting a price for the truck you want first.

What truck do you want? That will partly determine how hard it will be go find. Toyota gives trucks to dealers randomly if they don't ask for a truck or trucks in their allocation. They can put a request in for what you want. You will be lucky to find one who will order you what you want and give you a discount from msrp

I want a TRD OR DCSB with JBL preferably in black. I know it might be hard to find so I was gonna order one so I get exactly what I want.

I emailed 90 of the closest dealers to me and got responses from 49 of them. All of their responses said they didn't have the vehicle I wanted and that I should call them to talk about it. I replied to all of them asking if they would order it from me and most of them didn't reply. The few who did said they would order for abotu 1k-5k over msrp. Then, one day, my wife randomly called a dealer near where she grew up who got what we wanted in their allocation that day. We drove there, that day, and put a 500 deposit after negotiating to 500 under msrp, which was a good price back then in socal.

so that's how it happened for us. But it took 3 months to find that truck and it was the first 7568 we came across which wasn't already spoken for

I spoke with a Toyota internet sales manager today and he looked up when production stops on the 16' and first day builds start on the 17s. August 1, first build for 2017s, probably ship late September/early October?

they are usually built in less than 2 days. I assume they have already put a few 2017s through the assembly line with the new parts, if any, and are ready to ship the second day's production after keeping the first few for tests, demos, etc
