    What does this mean?

Is $30,642 2017 invoice or is $30,072? Why does it say current for the in parenthesis numbers instead of 2016 like all of the other models.

Have you ever seen car prices go down? :)

Yes, it is confusing, but as the author wrote it's the best presentation he's come up with.

The current invoice is $30,642 I believe. The numbers in parenthesis are the 2016 figures.

Haha no. That's what I thought and the number I used in my negotiations but I wanted to double check.

What's weird is the numbers in parenthesis do not match the numbers in the 2016 table below.

In total there are 3 sets of numbers for the 7545 in the original post.

    $29738 | $32100
    $30072 | $32460
    $30642 | $33075

Great deal! Deals such as this are possible. I recently acquired my 17 DCSB OR 4x4 Manual with Prem/Tech package along with couple of small options for 33200. OTD at 36300. I was also quoted 38K OTD for a 2016 Auto few months ago.

2016 numbers initially had a different price, mid year had a price jump which is the current pricing in (). the numbers in the table are the current 2017 pricing compared to the mid year pricing.

I am tracking the increase in price as the year is going from original post in 2015/2016 and then mid year pricing vs 2017 pricing.

as you can tell its hard to track in a simple code table

also as you can see the price increase from initial gen sales vs mid year and 2017 pricing has jumped about $900

Very useful thread, though it still confuses me a bit. I'm guessing the discrepancies - outside TDA - were changes in 2017 pricing?

Dealer had almost identical trucks on the lot. Both 2017 gray 4D long bed TRDs, one a Sport and the other an OR, same options except the OR also had mud guards. I was armed with my calculated invoice, and haggled the Sport. He disagreed with my numbers and readily printed me off a sheet straight from his screen with a breakdown of dealer costs. Base was higher than my calculation, and there was the unexpected TDA. The Sport was ~$1500 over what I'd calculated. The OR was much closer, with the TDA accounting for most of it. I was already prepared to pay $35K for the OR, allowing for about $500 over what I thought invoice was. He offered it at his listed invoice, which came out to ~$35,200, and gave me $500 more on my trade, which I considered generous as it's a high mileage Hyundai and is due for some pricey scheduled service items. I also have a soft spot for reasonable ($199) dealer fees, so I signed.

My guess is that I could have done a little better. We only went to check out the trucks, but ended up being there there most of the day, with an exit to look at a camper, some Sierras, and test drive an F150. We drove 4 Tacos and a 4Runner and looked at several Tundras. That doesn't account for the many cars my kids "test drove" and truck beds they played in. My plan was to internet shop it, but they entertained my kids, the guy pulled keys for half the trucks on the lot, and was never pushy. I was happy to give them my business. The killer was that the truck was fresh off the hauler and wasn't yet inspected, so we couldn't take it with us. I'd be sitting in it right now if I had it. My old man would be thoroughly disappointed in me if I didn't test drive the specific truck I was buying, so I Ricky Bobby'd a few laps around the parking lot before signing.

Hi everyone, new guy here. Somewhat new to trucks, but an avid car enthusiast and an m3 owner/m3forum member for nearly 10 years now. I love wrenching on cars, doing preventive maintenance as well as undertaking major repairs, its my hobby really. I'll do a proper intro thread at some point.
Anyway due to a growing family, I'm looking to get into a new Tacoma, I'm hoping to get some feedback on what I'm realistically will be paying for the following:
2017 trd sport dblcab 4x4 3.5 A/T, short bed, tech package(could do without jbl) and towing pack, I can do without everything else, unless I'm missing out on something else I should definitely have, then let me know.
I'm in Seattle area, I've noticed there's quite a bit of you from here, let me know where you guys have had best success negotiating and overall best experience as far as dealerships go
    Thanks in advance

update 17 (19-SEP-16) : moved minor info into spoiler tag, cleaned up the pricing chart to not be confusing to new people, track only current pricing.

FYI, SouthEast Toyota is $950 for "Manuf, Delv, Proc, & Handling" and $925 "Admin" per the documents I have on my 2017 TRD OR two weeks ago.

If you can, it may be worth a trip to outside the Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) regions in order to their cartel fees.

For example: If you're in Georgia or Alabama, it may be worth your while to shop in Tennessee.

I'm new here and in the market for a new tacoma. I have been shopping around and would like to know if the price I'm looking at is a good deal.

    2017 TRD OR 4x4 DBLCB
    Premium and Tech package
    Tonneau Cover
    Tow package
    All weather mats

A dealer is offering $37,200 plus TTL. What do you guys think? Thanks

Is that with the JBL? if it is just the premium and tech package (without JBL) invoice is approximately $36,089 + 940 (Destination fee) = $37,029.

That sounds like a good deal to me.

Hi guys, im finally ready yo buy 2017 limited dealer in florida keeps bsing me that the invoice for 7182 is $35,617, when on the master list it shows a little over 33k. Does anyone know of a dealer in florida thatll do 500-700 over invoice? I also tried the usaa car buying and it was only $600 off from msrp, what a joke. Thanks in advance

When I build a 2017 SR5 doublecab, the MSRP on the Toyota we cite is around two thousand more than the list show. With no options or extras. Why would that be?

Don't forget you have to add in the Delivery charge to the figures listed, so that's $950 currently in SouthEast Toyota territory. $33,091 plus $950 is $34,041. SET also charges dealers a $925 Admin fee in the invoice price according the docs I received in buying my TRDOR this month. That totals $34,966, so there's probably some other fee also being added on - perhaps a version of the TOYOGUARD crap nearly every SET vehicle gets hit with.

It's all this sort of random stuff that's why I prefer to negotiate on out-the-door pricing -- avoids hidden surprises such as a dealer offering to sell at "invoice" then forking you with $1000 in crap fees as you're writing the paperwork having driven three hours to see them.
