I went through Cartelligent, but I was able to get Fleet Pricing through work for '17 DCSB 6MT (Inv + $500) so that may not yield any better results. I went to a couple of dealers and they wouldn't budge from MSRP in the Bay Area. My suggestion would be to look further outside the Bay Area - you may be able to get better results there (or Oregon/NV/AZ and fly there/drive back). They clear inventory in Bay Area on Tacos at/above MSRP easy.

Another suggestion: Go through Costco auto purchase program if you have it. You will get good pricing through there (but may have to wait a little longer if you are particular about what you want).

Can anyone recommend a dealer and salesman in Houston area that will sell a tacoma at $200 or so over invoice? I don't mind driving a few hundred miles if needed.

I was stoked! Pretty surprised I walked out at that low. I emailed at least 20 dealerships and when I got a different one to send me an offer of 3-4K off sticker after 2 weeks or so of haggling via email for a white 2wd Sport (32.8k OTD), I sent that offer back out to the other dealers I was in contact with. This was 1 of the 3 dealers who offered to match/beat that price. They didn't have it on-site and was going to have to do a dealer trade. They really wanted me to take one on their lot (even more so since it was 3 days before Xmas I'd assume). I asked what 4wd Sports they had in stock and they had 1 blue one that arrived the day before. I told them it's more than I wanted to spend but I could do ~34.5k OTD for that one and no more which was 6k off. The sales manager called the general sales manager 3-4 times but they finally agreed since they knew I'd walk out on the 4wd one if they don't do that price or they'd have to dealer trade for the 2wd one which was already 4-5k off.

Man!! I'll say it again, that's an awesome deal.If i could get a price like that I would trade in my 2015 in a heartbeat. I like my truck but find myself needing a double cab more and more.

Seems pretty good on price, particularly for the less common DCLB config.

I thought the P&T with JBL package was 110% worth it. Enough so that I ordered and waited for my truck so I could get the JBL upgrade. Absolutely enjoy the sound and the amenities. Might not be enough thump for some, but it's more than plenty for my tastes. I don't listen to rap/hiphip/r&b but do listen to most every other genre depending on mood.

Someone else may say the JBL upgrade isn't worth it and you can DIY for cheaper (yet oddly I've asked but still haven't seen a parts list showing how I could have added a sub, 400W amp, and replaced all the speakers for the $628 invoice price difference)

Someone else will say the whole thing isn't worth it at all and you should just stick with the basic interior

    Take your pick.

Thanks for the advice, I'm going to ask if it's not too late to find one with a JBL added on.

Don't ask, tell them that's what you need.

Cars and trucks are WAY too expensive to be buying anything other than exactly what you want(*) unless you're backed into a corner for some reason.

(*) within the realm of your budget and finances of course

If you're not backed into a corner by being without a vehicle, take your time and be willing to order the config you want.

I got my truck exactly how I wanted it. Ended up having to order it, though my dealer was able to find one coming in to another dealer in three weeks that only was missing the OEM tonneau -- they got that truck and swapped the tonneau from another truck they had. Three weeks later I had it and remain very pleased with my choices.

When buying used you're at the mercy of what's available. New is different and has more flexibility, possibly at the cost of time.

Def not in any bind, 1st gen is still going strong (250k and counting). They are bringing one over for me to look at later this evening, its missing the OEM Tonneau cover and the JBL, so I may end up saying No.

Pretty sure there's no OEM tonneau for the longbed.

Seriously, go somewhere that has both JBL and non-JBL models and bring a USB stick with your favorite music. Sit and listen a while. Take your time. See if it makes a difference to you that's worth the cost and wait.

For me, there's a distinct added layer to the music that made the JBL upgrade a "must have" Would the truck be any less capable without it? Not at all. But since I do have to sit in it driving places it's worth making that environment a little nicer. Particularly since I tend to hold vehicles 8-10 years or more.

That's a good idea, I'll grab some music before I head over there in a couple hours. I too keep my cars for a long time. I doubt I'm going to walk out with the keys just yet, a lot of folks on the forum are advising me to walk away if it doesn't have the tech package. If they don't go below 33K (currently at $34,300) for the truck or have one with a tech pkg, I'm walking.

You've already verified your finance rate and preapproval amount at your local credit union?

Don't give any dealer a penny or touch pen to paper until you've done the above. At least around here there are great local credit unions that doesn't require anything special to join.

If you absolutely don't have access to a credit union, ask and folks can probably suggest commercial finance options. The main point is go in already knowing your finance options before you see what the dealer can offer. Otherwise you're giving them all the power since they can quote an inflated rate and act like they're doing you a big favor... and you have no clue that they're doing so.

This might seem like a dumb question but I wanted to confirm if the MSRP's & invoices listed in the OP are current for the 2017's or is that current for the left over 2016's?
