Definitely a slick way to do it. I would assume it is pretty typical to have a fuse like that on the back of a stereo, but I have only ever installed one in my life. I can't imagine his module draws more than a few hundred mA. You could probably power it from just about anything, including adding an inline fuse to his PnP Harness that taps into the stereo power upstream of its fuse.

Yeah, I assume OP has a good reason for being so formal on drawing power.

My RR2 has a fuse (left side near the middle) and most aftermarket head units would likely employ a maestro to have access to the steering wheel controls.

He's probably just covering his ass because you know damn well that if he pulled power from somewhere with no fuse he would get shit from someone on this forum.... It's also a lot cleaner than having an extra wire and fuse holder spliced in.

Any idea if this will work on 2nd gens as well? Radio should be similar if not the same but unsure if it would or not.

I've added some more information about the adapters to the product description and FAQ tabs on the product listing page that will hopefully help to answer some of the questions from this forum and through the various emails I've received. I've also added a waitlist option to the product page so folks can sign up to be notified when these are back in stock.

I've got a batch of adapters that are completed and ready for sale so I'll give people a few hours to go ahead and sign up on the waitlist before I make them available.

    Thanks!
