It’s natural. I can’t speak for that show, as mine were in a different time. When you know you have hit the deep end is when you wait for the show to end, or find yourself watching sans kids (not changing the channel). :cookiemonster:

Not trying to throw a wrench in any plans, but is there a consideration to placing the mirror control in the left side pocket? Sothing to fill this space? I think it makes more sense to keep it near the mirrors. @KTJO 4x4 and @mesojdm thoughts?

The plan is to keep it in its OEM position

    UPDATE:

Ok...so I have received a few responses from some Tacoma owners and not so good of news.
    1. I’ve received at least three looks at different hinges.
    2. I do not believe the DIY Option 1 for the 3rd Gen Tacoma is going to work how it is currently. I am currently trying to source just the hinge that I know works so that I can add it to the DIY Option 1 Kit. Depending on the timeframe of sourcing the hinge, the NEW Tacoma DIY Kit items would include: OEM Hinge, Powerfold Actuator with Wires, Connection Plate, Replacement OEM Toyota Adjust & Fold Switch, and Automatic Control Box for the Folding Mirrors.
    3. If the timeframe for sourcing this additional part is a ways out, I would like to ask the ones that have opted for that Option if you would be interested in Option 2 or Option 3 at all. I’m hoping to hear something tomorrow or Tuesday regarding the Hinge and timeframe.
    4. Hoping to hear confirmation from some 4Runner owners that we are good to go with their OEM Hinge

I thought that idea had been scrapped, but I’m glad to hear that is still the plan. I misread when you compared it to his lower switch panel.

Yeah, it sounded like you and Meso were working on a lower replacement panel to fit the OEM switch from your previous update.

After re-reading her post, she was using his lower switch panel as an example of it needing a bit work for installation.

It’s just not going to be the FULL Panel Replacement. I think what it will be called is a “Core Exchange” Modified Panel. You’d cut the hole in your Panel and Snap in a NEW Controller Bezel it would look 99% OEM. I plan on paying for these myself for the first Batch and sending these out to you guys. In return, hence the “Core Exchange”, I’m asking that you trade your OLD Controller Bezel back into me so that I am able to get it modified for the next person. This will cut the cost down for the TW Members to come. No! It will not always be free. Haha. I’m just doing this as a get off the ground running start and a thank you to my First Batch of Members!

You cut a hole in your Window Switch Panel, Replace it with Your NEW ME-SO Customs Controller Bezel Switch Panel, and then use Epoxy from the Back or for you over achievers like myself :) plastic weld from the back to secure the Panel in Place. Once the Switch Panel is nice and secure, you can take the Replacement OEM Adjust & Fold Switch that I include in your Kit and snap it into place. Done!

Tester will be printed tomorrow! :bananadance:

So you are saying, for those with option 3, we get the folding mirrors and mesofied armrest panel - install - then send out the stock mirrors and armrest panels.

Sounds like a plan I am will to go all in for.

I forgot to mention, you do NOT have to receive the New Controller Bezel Switch Panel. It is an OPTION. With that said, if you opt for that option, you are agreeing to send me your cutout section of your OLD OEM Controller Bezel Switch Panel so that I can reuse it and get it modified for the next Member. However, if you would like to still make your own cut, you are still more than welcome to do so. Please let me know through PM. Thank You!

This rendering looks like just a small portion of the panel. Sorry, I'm a little confused on what I would be returning if I chose this option?

So @KTJO 4x4 will be making armrest console panels with this Meso insert piece already installed.
If we choose to, this mesofied console panel will be shipped with out to us, we install them, then ship the stock console panel to her.

When I reread her post, it went from saying to self cutting to her sending a modded piece and asking for the stock trim, with no transition.
So I can see how it would get confusing.
Cause if we did the cut and install the piece ourselves, then there would be no reason to return anything.

Agree, it is a bit confusing. I would 'assume' the reason for the confusion in the posts is that A) it is an option and B) There are DIY versions #1 and pre-assembled versions (#2 & #3).
I would therefore again 'assume' that selection #1 you add the option and all you get is the piece for your own hackitude. For Selection #2 /#3 you would get the pre-assembled panel with an expected "CORE" return.

Speculation, yes - but it would only make sense.
