    Hi

I have a 2007 4runner and have heard that 3rd gen Tacoma TRD struts will give the front of my stock 4runner a little lift maybe 1-1.5"? (just looking to level). Is that correct? Right now the front is 2" lower than back when measured from center of wheels.

Does anyone have a pair of low mileage TRD take offs available? I think I prefer the off road version with Bilsteins but I'm still researching off road vs sport to see what the difference is. Any insights would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Not sure what engine you have in the runner but the struts are the exact same length. I put my 21 stock struts on a 2004 V8 runner and it definitely didn’t lift anything over stock height.

    Perhaps it's the TRD struts that are longer? Oh, and I have a 2007 V6 SR5 4runner.

    Thanks

There are no struts. It's a coil over shock double wishbone IFS.

But shocks don't create lift anyway. Springs bear the weight, shocks control the spring motion.

Thanks, let me clarify that I'm asking about the whole strut/coil assembly (direct replacement plug in to my 4runner).

If the springs are longer or a higher lb/in rating you would get some lift.

The coilover length is the exact same across all platforms. According to Toyota parts website, the spring is the same across all trims except the pro. So the only difference is the shock. And like Bill said, shocks don’t provide any lift. You can get a wescott collar to put on the stock shock to provide more preload on the spring and therefor create lift but that will make the ride a lot harder.

So I can us my 19’ TRD Sport coils on my 16’ 4Runner with 4Runner Specific 5100’s with no issues? I had my Tacoma coils laying around with only 5k on them and my 4Runner has 100k. Figured if I’m putting on new shocks/struts, might as well refresh the front coils. But the rub is that I have no clue what to set my circ clip… or will the setting be the same wether on not I using Tacoma coils? I hope that makes sense.
