With all the creative people on here, could it really be that difficult to figure out a way to install a trans dip stick, or even a sight glass to check the fluid?? Someone on here has the ingenuity to do this. I bet you could sell a lot of them too!! Just throwing down the gauntlet........

The dip stick is not the problem. The problem is the one hundred thousand people who would check it at the wrong temperature and add or drain fluid and then complain when their transmission didn't work right...

Also, you would need to make a screw in dipstick with seals so the transmission could remain pressurized like it is now. If tou do that, then you get one hundred thousand people complaining about stripped threads in their transmission after they checked it.

No, the current setup is good. I don't think Tacomaworld has enough bandwidth or server space to accomodate a 3rd gen transmission dipstick problem thread.

No, smitty would say, the turd gen doesn't need a trans dipstick, it needs a different transmission all together.

you do realize if you do this, this will void your 5/60 transmission warranty. its a sealed transmission. and trust me, any slight mod to the transmission and Toyota will void it in a heartbeat.
