Not true at all, it’s fine with kids in the back. We load up all 4 of us and go camping, skiing, dirt bike riding etc. Everyone is comfortable and the kids love riding in the truck. I don’t get the whole need for giant vehicles.

I don’t adjust my seat when son gets in, my wife is 5’-7” and has plenty of leg room. Obviously the F-150 has more room, but the Tacoma is fine for a lot of families.
They are both now in boosters, which gives them a few more inches of leg room.

Yup, and that's with that gigantic kid lounge couch you call a car seat. Ours are much slimmer (Radian), so fits better. But two kids are in boosters now, so we've got plenty of room as well. A little tight with the rear facing seat now, but it'll only be for a few more months.

Had both, and can honestly say the F150 will suit you better in the long run. The only thing I miss I about the taco is the color...I loved that Barcelona Red. Otherwise I am a happy camper. Zero issues, better fuel economy, better safety ratings, better looking, etc.... good luck with your search and decision.

    A few.
Why compare a midsize to a fullsize. Totally different class of vehicle. Tacoma competes with the Ford ranger. Tundra competes with the f-150.

Since I see Ford targeting the Tundra in some of there advertising, its apparent they still consider it competition for them.

Fair point. But I know that I had that same debate when I was truck shopping and did not seriously consider a Tundra, who's size was an automatic disqualifier for me. The lines between a "smaller full size" like F150 and "larger midsize" like Tacoma are getting closer. Perhaps because it was my first truck so I was a little more all over the map. But it seems like there are many of us who consider these two models specifically.

The question the OP is essentially asking is “Should I go mid size or full size.”
