I kinda agree, I like the concept of the mod but over all it looks out of place to me anyway. side caps would make it all good!

Side rail cap prototypes are three feet away from me right meow. I just need to get time to install them.

    stock (for now)
When I load things up in the back of the truck I normally like to slide the things in I can see those screws getting caught up or maybe doing some damage If not careful. Correct me if I'm wrong though (I can't tell if screws are sitting flush from the pictures)

I also want to know when you get all the sides up for sale.

And I hope something gets done about those two top screws.

I'm real interested and want to buy all at same time. Want to replace the plastic tops real bad

I would like a flat stainless tailgate panel as well. I use the tailgate for a table camping and tool bench the factory ribbed one dumps everything over and hurts to kneel on.

Getting the sides with the tailgate would probably help on shipping.

I have no idea why I'd need that but it looks pretty sweet.

any comment about those top screws there? i'd love to see a version without those. the plastic tops are smooth, no screws. curious why those were added.

i'd buy the tailgate and side versions in a heart beat (want them now!) if they didn't have screws sticking out of the tops.

The tapped screw holes are built into the tailgate. They were a convenient way to fasten the cap to the tailgate, so we would be crazy not to use them, and it would be mechanically unsound to not use them.

The cap looks outstanding in person.

they are not there on the stock plastic version. my issue (and others that i have read) is that it's a roadblock to purchasing having the raised screw there.

have you thought about redesigning and having that screw recessed? im trying to understand why the stock cap doesn't have that screw but it's added in your model? i'd love to have one with no screws there, or recessed. having a flat surface to slide items is important to me.

The stock plastic caps have clips underneath to hold it in place. We don't have that advantage. The tapped holes are already there, so we used them.

Adding an additional manufacturing step to countersink the screw holes would just increase the price. Since the price is already higher than the 2nd gen cap, we're going to leave it like it is.

The cap looks outstanding in person.

Because they would have to be done 100 caps at a time, and then it's just one more QC step to control, and one more thing for the fabricator to screw up, and one more thing that I have to deal with.

And like I've said before, it would increase the cost.

The cap looks outstanding in person, as is.

Try it now. I had to make a flat rate shipping thingy for a dude in Guam who's ordering a huge pile of stuff from us.
