Ya since 2nd gens didn't have any issues like engine mount failures, gasket failures, bending tailgates, failed secondary air pumps, frame rot...

from what i hear it is. though it's far better in other areas. i still stick around here- since trading for a new titan pro4x 2020- because it's such a lively group and i feel i have something to offer it. i had the vibe coming to a stop until i did my 1st tire rotation. it was the same as others on here talk about. dealer couldn't figure it out. obviously it was tire related OR it did happen to coincide with me changing the rear diff fluid. i found it low from factory. who knows. i am in a far more comfortable vehicle now and it drives like i'd expect it to. no lagging or gutlessness. the 3rd gen seemed about on par with other makes to me. it was my first, and last, toyota however. the fuel pump thing along with the dealer's attitude on loaner car stung me deep...

I feel like most 3rd Gen failures are just driver failures.

I've never seen a mass produced vehicle without some kind of recall or in-perfection especially in the $30k non luxury range. It's expected to have SOMETHING if not a few things people don't like. As for this truck, I drive it 80 miles a day. Had zero issues, garage kept and maintained by me. Not a single issue.

Yep, I've owned every gen, they all have little things, I think what happened with the 3rd gen was you had 2nd gen owners who wanted to find fault combined with people who have no need for a truck now buying a truck and finding fault with every little thing because it acts like a truck.

Zero issues in the 3 months and 2200 miles of ownership! Seems solid to me.
