i dunno about "acting like a truck". i thought so too. i thought the lagginess and the winding it out necessity was all part of it being a "truck". I haven't had many new trucks besides driving loaners though. But the titan has shown me that's not true. The 3.5 in the taco takes alot of driver manipulation to perform without it feeling sluggish. ect mode on and s mode. the default when first started is to have those things off for better fuel economy- doubtful. personally being near 6'1" tall and 185 lbs, i felt like i left a torture device after every trip greater than 1 hour. never had that issue with any other vehicle in my 50 years of living. now, i don't have the hip/knee issues any longer after owning it for just 1 month and it goes when i push the skinny pedal and stops smoothly with the fat pedal. i get about same mpgs as the taco got for me- seriously. All with 413ftlb torque at 4000 rpms. The 4.0 in the 2nd gen, was equivalent to the 4.0 in nissans, is far better in terms of power and feel than the atkinson 3.5. But it sucked more gas. Also, the taco idling just sounded bad due to DFI. However, the titan has DFI and it sounds perfect for it, like a diesel. With that said, titans had there issues with the 5.6 v8's. knocking. i researched that before buying one and it looks like they fixed it after jan 2019 build dates so i am golden there- hopefully. the jury is still out on the 3rd gen taco though. i think it looks better than the others by far and has more features. engine/trans was my only concern with it as far as performance, so circling back, are trucks supposed to be dead dog slow? Or jsut a little slow?

But to answer your first question honestly though. I sincerely love this truck. And whether the post is troll or some new guy trying to get his count up before TWSS doesn't matter to me. Responding with anything but valid points only makes this thread go further down the rabbit hole which continues the trend of 3rd gen trolling. You don't fight fire with fire. And while this non sense seems to have no end and probably never will. I stand by the operation and functionality of this truck. I feel safe in it every day I drive to work, and I feel safe to put my family and newborn in it. I trust it to bring me to church and I trust it to bring me home.

Good to know that I can at least get double the trouble free miles out of my truck as I have now!

Not to worry, TOYOTA has set its sights a wee bit higher!

    toyota_lunar_cruiser-jpg_70d1a6e364111b224de9469382b8408d8c4acfb7.jpg

    Toyota Lunar Cruiser
The Lunar Cruiser is a special vehicle in this ranking. First, because it will be used to explore the wilderness not on Earth, but on the Moon. Secondly, because it is created in cooperation with the Japanese Space Agency JAXA. The third reason is propulsion - the Lunar Cruiser will be powered by Toyota's zero emission electric motor and hydrogen fuel cell system.

So it can be said that this vehicle will take the Cruiser name further than Hanji Umehara could have dreamed of - both in space and in terms of technology. Toyota will do everything to ensure that this innovative lunar vehicle boasts the same outstanding quality, durability and reliability as the Land Cruiser throughout its 70 years of history. The first Lunar Cruiser mission to the moon is scheduled for 2029.

The vehicle will be 6 m long, 5.2 m wide and 3.8 m high. The pressurized cabin with a capacity of 13 m 3 will be designed for 2 astronauts, but will accommodate 4 people if necessary. A huge hydrogen tank will provide a range of up to 10,000 km. km, giving a great freedom of movement to explorers of the lunar surface. If the range is extended by 10% during development, the Lunar Cruiser will even be able to go around the moon - its circumference is 10,921 km.

I imagine the people who make the "is x gen taco the worst?" and own that generation of tacoma just want something to complain about. Or maybe they like the feeling of being inferior. They're the kind of person to go to a wife swapping party to keep their wife happy no matter how much it hurts them personally.
