    Is this the damper?: https://www.toyotaofdallas.com/part...DE3JnQ9dHJkLW9mZi1yb2FkJmU9My01bC12Ni1nYXM%3D

Hopefully you're able to grab the parts at a good price. Look forward to your write up.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to strike a deal with the manufacture in Mexico, the damper and damper bracket are approximately 80 bucks each

The damper bracket is the hinge on the truck, and the damper is in my hand.
That's the best I can do from work at the momentScreenshot_20190809-130506_KineMaster.jpg

Right on, thanks for showing that.
My father's Tundra has something that looks like a strut mounted behind the tail light (in the side panel) and wondered if the Tacoma had something like that too. I guess not. Maybe it's because the Tundra tail gate is heavier. Knowing me, even though pricey, I'd still like to do this mod. Especially since I plan on adding those aftermarket tailgate reinforcements.

Closer to 300, unless u can source the bracket and damper, they are around 80 bucks each, I got mine from a recking yard for 40 for both

I'm working on it my friend, I plan on selling 2 different kits, one without the bracket and damper and one with. Reason is you might be able to source them cheaper than I can get them

So, does the damper bracket and damper bolt right into the 2nd gen bed sill? What's that silver pipe going from the sill to the bedside? I see you cut the nub off the 2nd gen hinge. I assume you are welding something onto the hinge to engage the damper.

That silver pipe is just holding the fender back, once the existing holes are drilled out and the stub removed the 3rd gen hinge and damper bolt up, I'm not welding anything, the 3rd gen bracket and the damper are all oem parts, it will all be explained in the video write up, hoping to post it this afternoon when I get off work.
I work10 or 12 hour days, so it's kinda slow going,
