Hey all, need some advice. Have a chance to purchase a lightly-used Diamondback SE from a 3rd Gen Tacoma to install on my 2024, 4th Gen. I called Diamondback and got some info and a lukewarm "it'll work, just might not work the best."

3rd Gen dimensions are 64.125 long x 63.5 at cab and 61 at the tailgate
4th Gen dimensions are 63.750 long x 63.75 at cab ad 60.75 at the tailgate.

What say you members?? Is it worth the gamble for a $1k savings??

I wouldn’t. You’re also going to need the bullhead attachment points and not sure if that is compatible or not. I would think based on your dimensions you provided it’s not going to fit. Ive also read that the the 4th gen bed is wider.

Thanks, your pics give a little better perspective. With that bump (spoiler?) on our tailgates, it's doesn't give much room to squeeze it back and at the cab there's not much room to move forward. Makes that extra length on the 3rd Gen Diamondback even more questionable.
Thanks for the info and pics, I'll be saving up for a new one.

There are also foam shims that stick to the underside of the bed rails that need to be installed.
