    UPDATE:
So we got the truck back from the transmission shop. It was just under 1 gal low on oil. Yeah 1 gallon. The damn dealership told me the oil level was good. As of right now it drives like new. The color of the oil was tinted light brown but he said still looked good enough to not worry to much about severe damage done. Time will tell. But even if it goes to shit he can rebuild the trans for around $2000 and that’s with a brand new oem valve body. Thanks to all for your input, I hope this will help anyone in the future. Make sure your off-roads have enough trans fluid..

Why are so many Toyota dealerships incompetent? Ugh. Glad your truck is going again, did you change the fluid and filter? I would

New tech. Probably loosened the engine oil plug a bit, oil seeped out, so he said to himself "tranny fluid level is good".

Yeah I going to drive it this week to be 100% we took care of the problem. Then I’m going to drive it right up front so they can pull anything in until some refunds the $150 they charged to tell me the oil level was fine and tell me the check engine light was on.

Your probably not going to get very far doing that but if you really want to hurt them go on Yelp and any other rating websites and write them a nasty review about everything that happened and trust me that will hurt them far worse. They will probably call you and offer a refund to take down the reviews.

Because the dealerships have pretty much ran off all of the good, knowledgable technicians and replaced them with $12 parts changers.

Having worked in a dealership... yeah. Not nearly enough of that $150/hour fee went to the technician

If I were you I would dispute the transaction on the credit card. They did not provide the service that you paid for.
I hate that dealerships and greasy mechs get away with fraud like this. Once you find a reliable shop tell everyone you know about it and take care of them. Speaking of, anyone in the middle GA area in need of a shop let me know, ASX is the best hands down.

Did you find any evidence of a leak by the way? Wondering if it was that low from the factory I’m going to check my tranny fluid and change diff fluids this month. I have 36 K

so we went from a salvage yard buy with a poorly designed auto transmission from Toyota, to a miss diagnosis by a Toyota dealership whom said the ATF fluid was up to the correct level, to a rediagnosis by another who says your a gallon low on ATF! why didn't you check the ATF level yourself before you did anything?

Wow. You were 1/3 empty? Are you original owner? Hard to believe you made that far..
Edit. Never mind. Salvage title explains.

Well what’s strange, is you’d think the fluid was low from the wreck & likely radiator replacement — but why would it have shifted fine for the last 32k?
May be worthwhile to check the transfercase fluid levels to make sure the transmission isnt leaking into it

Ok. I had a feeling a thread was going. I had my transmission go on my 2017 Sport this past spring. I figured it was from pulling a 20' boat all over mew England fishing. The extended warranty covered the replacement at 85k miles. Rebuilt.
My boss who has a 2017 Off-road had his trans fail last week. Apparently the cooler lines corroded from the inside prevented a flow to cool. It was only a matter of time. He was at 119k.
