    Got some weird issues guys.

Just a few hours ago, I put the taco into reverse. It immediately stalled and gave me a "High Transmision Oil Temperature" message. Right after this I tried starting it and it just wouldn't fire until serveral turns later. I noticed a hissing sound coming from the rear but I couldnt identify exactly where. Now it starts, but 90% it stalls when I put it into reverse or back into drive. I get the trans temp message, And sometimes even "Check charging system" or "check brake system" and then the brakes freeze up.

What the hell is wrong with ny taco?

I've already made an appointment at the dealer. (Two fn weeks away)

    Thanks for any input!

That's definitely a new one. I would call back and insist someone look at it. Driving a new vehicle that stalls and warning lightsigns coming on should not have to wait that long. IMO

:bananadead: Call roadside assistance and have it towed to another dealer? Sorry man it sounds like you got a shaft on the third gen. Could be a bad crankshaft position sensor. Need to let dealer troubleshoot but 2 week wait is ridiculous. I'd call corporate and see if they can escalate your appointment

Morning everyone, not sure if this is the place but I wanted to ask about an issue I have been having to see if anyone else knows about it..........
When my truck is cold, like it sits over night or sits while I am at work, so when I start it and put the truck in drive, they is a small delay.....its weird.
Its like someone is tugging the truck for a few seconds and then lets go, after that the truck is fine, it shifts fine, only seems to happen on fresh starts.

There is a TSB for the auto that helps with the shift delay and you should also have them check the fluid level in the transmission. See the sticky threads for info on TSBs (Rev 1 now).

Wait ... what? OP posts about a possible CPS sensor and another post asking about the transmission lag... I'm missing something.

OK fine.. OP tow the truck to a DIFFERENT dealer. Have them look at the crankshaft position sensor... even tho this issue was supposed to be fixed at the end of 2016 model year production those are the symptoms.

Thanks, I will say something about both of these - the software update and the sensor.

Thanks (everyone) for the quick input. I really do appreciate it.

So after sitting 12 hours through a cold night, I'm no longer having issues. I'm still going to keep my appointment, though. Just in case I get the issues again. Even before the problems, I was going to go into the dealer for a Trans. firmware update, anyways. So I'll have them flash the new firmware and hopefully I wont have anymore issues.

This is weird, though. Makes me feel quite uneasy. I haven't done anything to even attempt a fix, so I'm assuming I'll have the issues come back eventually. What's really strange is NO ONE else has seemed to report anything like it. I cant even find a single thread mentioning a "high transmission oil temperature" alert. I'll certainly keep everyone updated on this issue.

Has anyone else gone into the dealer for transmissions problems?
