I’m considering purchasing a set of 2018 trd Offroad wheels for my 2002 Tacoma 6 lug, and was curious if I would need to by new lug nuts aswell. Thanks for the help

I put a set of 2018 TRD Pro wheels from a 4runner on mine. I did use the lug nuts from the Runner because they were newer and in better shape. I think they look great and haven't had an issue with them yet.

Soo... as a noob I’m learning all this stuff as well. The thing that jumps out to me here is this, if you go up to a 17 inch wheel you loose side wall height correct? If I’m understanding what I’m reading, you want as much sidewall as possible if you off road. Are there advantages of a 17inch wheel for off-roading or should I stick with 16? Not gonna lie, the black trd off road that come on 4 runners (i think) look amazing. The red lettering on the center cap is sexy. Not sure if or how they would work with manual locking hubs though.

I have my 97 original wheels, I have the 2002 wheels pictured above(I did have to buy the shafted lug nuts) and now I just upgraded with trend to 2019 taco's offroad wheels(used my shafted lug nuts from my 2002 wheels). the original 97 wheels are 15" and the 2002 & 2019 wheels are 16". This will allow me now to perform the tundra front brake upgrade since i don't need the 15" anymore (clearance issue with bigger caliper).

the 97 have the stock 31's, the 2002 are 245/70/16(was on sale) and the 2019 are 265/70/16(factory Good Year all terrain with Kevlar, not a Good Year fan must I must admit, they are very nice tires(no highway noise). I use UltraGauge on my rearview mirror so it shows the computers speed(speedo was under with 245 and now its over with 265)

The wheels are actually the factory trd Offroad wheels in the 3rd gens, with a vinyl decal that is placed of the machined finish. Three one of two companies that make the vinyl stickers, you can just search on Amazon Toyota trd Offroad wheels and the vinyl over lays should pop up. And for the tires there BFGoodrich all terrain Ko2 (bf ko2)

Here’s my 1st gen, and here’s a pick of the tires I’m throw on, there falken wildpeaks a lot of guys run th on the forums. The once I put the new tires on imma black out the faces

    Question:
Is the 2020 trd sport wheel (16” all black) the same wheel w the blackout kit? I’m thinking about putting these on my 04 dcab. W 265/70/16. I’m concerned that they stick out or recess back from the flare‍♂️ upload_2024-5-6_22-5-25.png
