hey guys I have a 2016 sr5 and I found a guy selling his 2016 Tacoma trd shock/struts. Can I buy these and bolt them right up in place of my stock shocks to give me the trd stance? Or is there more too the trd suspension I would need or have to do?IMG_6339.jpg

I have no personal experience with this, but they should fit. I suggest that you edit the title to say TRD instead of TR5 to get more responses.

Yes, they will fit. There will be no change in stance though. It will look identical.

Stiffer ride... no? I know my old TRD OR had a much stiffer ride than my current SR.

Stance comes from the wheels. I believe stock offset it like 50mm and the TRD is 10mm

Yes I have a leveling kit installed now. Thanks for the input I guess I assumed it was a different ride height but now that I think of it it could just be the bigger wheel size and beefer tire that makes it look the way it does

I'm not sure what an SR5 has but my TRD OR has the TRD Beadlock Style Wheels which are 7.5" with a 10mm offset and 265/70R16. Yours might be a 7" wheel with a 30mm offset which puts you at about 2-3" narrower than mine.

I'm thinking about just going the bilstien 5100 all around route the more I've researched and people seem to love it

I think the biggest "appearance" difference that makes the OR trucks look beefier is the black fenders. They create the illusion that the truck sits higher than it really does. The OR tires are slightly larger than your OEM sized tires (I think those are OEM sized Destination LEs?) but I don't think that really contributes to the overall impression as much as the black flares do.

As others have noted, the OR suspension will "sit" the same as the factory suspension.

If you are already considering swapping out suspension components and are also thinking 5100s, then just do the 5100s. They are pretty cheap and I've been pleased with mine. You can lose the spacer lift that way, as well.

With any lift you really want to consider larger tires... they look better, to start, and lifting without getting larger tires really defeats the purpose of the lift in the first place... that being to run larger tires!

My stock size tires stick out ever so slightly past the fender, you can see in his pic that his do not.

If the OP provides his wheel to wheel measurments I can provide mine to show the difference.
