Ok, we get it. The 3rd gen is the stepchild of Tacoma ownership. Basically Everyone is sitting around bitching about MPG, do my empty and unused rotopax make my truck look fat, will a lawyer win if I sue Toyota because my truck smells like farts, etc etc.
Then there are a handful of folks who make up the small percentage. Truck has dents, scratches, been cut up, sliders and bumper are heavily used, actually had to winch because of breakage or just not being able to make the line. The folks aired down below 10psi. The ones who look at skids as less, how much do they weigh and more, how hard can I beat on it. That's who this thread is for.
If you just wheel dirt roads, scenic drives, and camp, please check out this thread :
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...d-today-3rd-gen.400627/page-359#post-20822188
Nothing against it, we love the mild stuff and great camping roads too, just not the intent of the thread.

This thread is for the folks who push it a bit harder than everyone else. No offtrail stuff. No fire roads or camping pics. Rocks, boulders, ledges, trail damage, the good stuff only. I know guys like @JoeCOVA @bot102 and @johntoyota have done some good 3rd gen wheeling. Let see it.
And if you post in here, dont be afraid to get your feelers hurt if you get razzed for the dirt road wheeling pics

I think the folks that belong in this thread don't really care what the dealer thinks, likely pull the trans themselves, and aren't too worried about the oddball input from TW peanut gallery.

I think a hitch skid may be a good compromise instead of a full rear bumper.

Chinamans was fun, it was on my list for a long time. Did the shock relocate and shackle hangers the day before and it was a night and day difference

Worth every penny (and the 11 week lead time). I need to redo my lower shock mounts and adjust my bump stops to allow more uptravel, but it’s crazy the droop these get
