I'm gonna swap a 4g63T Mitsu engine with a T56 into my Taco! That will make gobs of reliable power....

Seriously though, with the engine bay room, they COULD HAVE put the 4.6 in it. How much fun would that have been?

I bet you have never thought of the practicality of fitting such a long engine in. Or how it would never be able to pass emissions. or how you would have to literally rewire the entire truck because they are so "connected" now...

You obviously have NO idea what you are talking about.

The JZ engines are quite possible the most reliable japanese engines ever made. They are known for being able to handle 4-digit hp numbers on the stock block.

3rd gen Tacomas are absolute shit compared to any JZGTE engine, 2.5L or 3L.

4 digits on stock block or shortblock?

Also to be fair we don't know what the 3rd gen motor will handle, nobody has really tried anything on it yet.

Stock block, meaning no aftermarket pistons, rods, sleeves, bearings, crank, etc..

I agree that the 2GR-FKS hasn't been experimented with high horsepower much at all. However, I still believe that any XJZ-GTE motor is better than it as far as reliability, power capability and mod-ability.

Yeap. Can't go wrong building a 2gz, Chevy v8, 4g63t, ford coyote, or the BMW 3 series motors. All can make tons of power on stock blocks.

    Wtf is a 2GZ?

Really? The 4G63 is notorious for being unreliable. Yes they are capable of making serious numbers but they are usually with motors that are heavily built using aftermarket internals. You would know!

i just dont think it would be the motor i chose to replace this one.

Everyone complains about the lack of low end torque so i think a V8 of some sort would solve the issue.

Why not the 2tr? It's got a bigger displacement, and the same closed deck style block ready for pistons and boost. I'm building mine for over 600hp right now. Block is good through 1800 hp. :notsure:
