I was just gonna say this. The interior design is really clean and organized well. Toyota knows how to make things simple and make sense. Its not overly crowded or complicated. Outside is nice too.

plenty of power, looks great, comfortable, doesn't need mods to make it capable - it already is (mostly)

The wranglers have been fine for me with the exception of snow driving. They pack full of snow real quick, I need 4wd to get out of my driveway most times it snows and my drive is maybe 10% slope at the most.

Edit: My unpopular opinion? The stock OR wheels look great.

    My unpopular opinions:

    Love the sitting position.

    Tires are fine.

    Truck looks great.

    Power is fine.

    Reliability is fine.

    Ridgelines are great .

Pretty much *most* of what’s already been said, with my ‘18 TRDOR. I’m perfectly happy with the power, the interior & controls, the stock lights and tires (yep, the GY Wrangler Kevlar). I’m even good with the factory “premium” audio. Truck does great in basically all things under 60mph, which is where I use it most.

I did a couple gnarly trails in my new at the time stock Taco. Was a bit stressful as I didn't want to bang up my new truck but it performed amazingly. Have sliders on order to give me a margin of error but otherwise I see no reason to lift and armor up for what I use it for. Plus it's been a decent daily driver and gas mileage is respectful for what it is.

Might be getting too old for this.
This is purely anecdotal but I took a week long off-road course (civilian but payed for by the U.S. Army) and I think the reason this truck lacks the driver's side handle is because both hands are supposed to be on the friggin' wheel if going hard in the dirt. Power steering or not that wheel can be ripped out of the hands when those tires get wedged in ruts.

Manuals are the same. Use the brake to modulate momentum to keep from stalling out and keep both hands on the wheel.

Had a 2nd Gen now 3G for a couple of months. I like most things about it. I love

    The look
    How it rides
    The lights
    Interior
    Plenty of power

I really don't love the transmission or the slick radio knobs

Not great in the ice/snow, not great in the mud. Once I changed over to the (C Load) 265/75/16 GY Duratracs, I had a much better winter tire, and better mud cleaning tire. The tire, the Off-Road should have come with!

But yes they were a quieter Highway tire. Should be on the Sport!

Drum brakes are more than adequate for everyday driving and most drivers would never know the difference.

Great truck and no complaints. Far better than my 2002 and I loved it. Never understood all of the bitching.

Have Duratracs on my GMC. I would say the Adventures are 85% the tire the Duratracs are off road for my needs and much better on road. I'll take 15% less capabilities off-road for better on road manners. But I do agree with you that the Duratracs are awesome off-road. I've had 3 sets.

I don't think you notice much of a difference but I hate working on drum brakes. That's my only complaint.

I think the stock OR wheels are the best looking of all the trims.

As a designer I agree with you 100%. Toyota and Subaru make the best usable & aesthetic interiors overall in their US made vehicles. Sometimes I wonder just what the hell kind of designers some of these other companies hire. The huge RAM tailgate is one of the most giddy ugly things I’ve ever seen on an exterior as well

    Preach, brother!

I don't know if they worked truly hard on it, or if they got extremely lucky, but even the volume being on the X axis instead of the Y doesn't bother me because everything else is just about perfect.

The 4runner on the other hand... :bananadead:
