What if I told you there's a whole separate transmission called a manual? What if I told you it's even more fun? What if I told you you get an extra pedal to play with too?

This is wildly unpopular (clearly because they're damn hard to find anymore) Manual transmissions are awesome

I still have to take delivery of my new Tacoma, but I’d say value for money.

For the amount of money I paid for this Tacoma, I’m getting a rear locker, an off-road tuned suspension with Bilstein shocks, selectable crawl modes, all-terrains with Kevlar reinforcement, leather seats that are heated, power moonroof, premium sound, power rear slider, blind spot monitor, cross-path detection, parking assist, navigation, push-button start, HIDs, LEDs, etc., etc., etc. Additionally, I’m getting 2 years of regular service included.

The same amount of money will get you into a totally stripped, barebones Jeep Wrangler or Jeep Gladiator Sport with a manual transmission, a canvas top, open diffs, undersized all-seasons on stamped steel wheels and plastic bumpers. If you add some basic necessities like an automatic transmission and a hardtop, you’re already at $40,000. By the time you add lockers, all-terrains, alloy wheels, navigation, HIDs, LEDs, leather seats, blind spot monitor, you are looking at $60,000. If you also want a truck that is well put together and has confidence-inspiring road manners, then you are SOL.

If you ask second gens it is. Who are the prime source of most everything negative about 3rd gens, in my experience.

If it’s the unplugged sessions it’s likely the speakers.

60mph to 100mph (on a closed track) is phenomenal with a MT

There isn’t any hate really. Some 2nd Gen guys feel the need to lurk the 3rd Gen forums claiming they own superior vehicles (jealousy or some shit I guess). 3rd Gen owners just give a little back for fun.

I am glad you like your truck and it’s treating you well, but we all know the glory days of the 2nd Gen Tacos are mostly over. Time waits for no one. These old trucks are becoming problematic for their owners, blowing engines and throwing codes, rusting and leaking and squeaking, and shorting out. 5 minutes spent in the 2nd Gen forum will show you just how much trouble they are becoming. That creates a little resentment I guess.

    Love the interior:
+ The infotainment system. I actually think it works great.
    + The on-board wireless charger
    + Android Auto

MT is awesome. I love driving a manual especially if it's more a sporty car. I got sick of commuting in a manual though so I now prefer AT for anything I'll drive back and forth to work.

    Nice try, but not really.

3rd Gen headlights are one of the most noticed parts of the truck by non-Toyota people. People love the look of them.

Oh I love the look of my 3rd gen headlights. Especially the BHLM. What I meant was the Halo-style headlights.

Behold! A 2nd gen offered as tribute!
