Wife and I are both interested in Hybrid / all electric. However, we walked away from Toyota feeling put-off with any new technology. My wife really liked the Adventure more so than the Limited. I know that she will never own another Toyota for as long as she lives. Me, If it weren't for the Tacoma, I would agree with here. We both went into Toyota with confidence about the reputation and quality of the brand. I have a different view now. Don't get me wrong, their vehicles are pretty good. But they don't live up to all the hype. And, they definitely do not live up to their promise of Customer Service. I've never before been refused service and told that a concern was "normal" without even investigating the issue. No matter how good their vehicles are. I'd rather deal with a lower quality vehicle that comes with excellent customer service.

There will be no 4th gen any earlier than 2025 as Toyota just announced that there will be a hybrid model available across all vehicle lines by 2025. Yep a hybrid Tacoma is coming!!!

I agree. Im in on a hybrid. Heck if they bring a full electric to market I’d buy one. They did mention at the car show when they said the hybrid was coming there will a be a full electric Tacoma/Tundra for overseas but no mention of it coming to the states.

I'm more interested in hybrid before full electric. Just for that it is a progression and seems more vetted and logistic wise

I'm not. In the slightest. Wouldn't be scared of a hybrid necessarily--but one system is simpler than two. I've been hoping to skip the whole hybrid phase

I think electric cars will be the most reliable cars ever made once the likes of Toyota and Honda start producing them in large quantities.

What “lower quality “ vehicle comes with excellent customer service?

Lets see. I've owned Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet, GMC, Mazda, Pontiac, Nissan, and Oldsmobile. Probably had most of them in the service department at one point or another. Not a single service technician ever told me "Thats Normal" and then proceeded to blow-off my concerns.

Perhaps you have a different definition of “excellent customer service “.

I'm extremely hard on my vehicles, and I have to say both my Tacoma's out preformed the vehicles I've had in the past. Any issues I had Toyota took care of (I had my main wiring harness get a short in it and I was under extended warranty and it stated very clearly that it DOES NOT COVER ANY ELECTRICAL. They covered it completely saving me over 4000k. They had to pull the truck off the frame to replace this thing. It could very well be the Stealership you went to. Shop around find the good ones.

I'd rather have a diesel than electric. But gas is what I'm very familiar with working on.

That's the only thing that would get me to trade in my 2nd Gen. Otherwise I'd rather send it down to TX and get the hilux swap for 25K.
