    I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport in Houston, TX.

    About a month ago I noticed water occassionally dripping on passenger side floor mats. See photo. I have read every forum out there on this and none of the problems or solutions described seem to fit - see below;
    • It happens rain or shine intermittently; When it happened to day, it has not rained in a week or more but is very humid;
    • sometimes when turn hard it will drip a little more (as if running off part above);
    • The A/C Drain hose is not blocked; it drips onto ground plenty but I blew it out anyway;
    • The cabin air filter is dry as a bone when it happens;
    • The carpet is not wet, it is driping down onto rubber floormat from behind dash
    • I used a Depstech inspection camera to look behind the dash/glove box and could see moisture in a few areas but have not figured it out yet;
    • It is not from the cowling; i lifted one end and used the inspection camera there is no water underneath and the design that affected the 2nd generation that caused rain to go into air intakes is not an issue on 3rd generations.
    I have spent a lot of time trying to figure this out. Then, randomly, a 2019 TRD off-road owner walked up to me and asked if I had a problem with dripping. We compared notes and it is the same issue. He took his to dealer and they could not figure it out or re-create it.

    I wonder if anyone has any idea or if it is the seals in the evaporator case.

    Check drain under wiper cowl. Remove wiper arm and cowl. Debris (leaves, seeds, and other debris) plugs this drain and will cause it to leak in cab.

    I really appreciate the reply. i also cleaned any debris i could, but maybe i couldnt see it all or didnt do it right or i am not looking at the right thing because i wasnt sure and the parts diagrams etc werent much help. Do you have a picture of the cowl drain tomake sure i'm looking at the right thing? or can you point me to one?

    No pic, I removed cowl and cleaned the drain. Blew it out with compressed air. did this last fall, and had glass company do it this fall when they replaced windshield last month.

    But, why would that cause an infrequent drip when its not raining?

    EDIT: NVM I DIDN'T READ, IGNORE
    Double check the AC drain hose location. I had a similar issue where it was dripping within the cab rain or shine.
    I took an air compressor, hit the AC drain hose with some compressed air, and all the water came flooding out. Since then, no drips in the cab.

    Water sitting in heater/ac box (from when it did rain, or car wash). Like you mentioned, turn hard and get a drip. That water then found it's way out of heater/ac box (housing)
    It drove me crazy also, until I figured it out.

    Did their suggestions fix the problem? I had this issue recently after having the windshield replaced (it wasn't an issue before). The drip was on the passenger side floor mat, about 75% to the right. Brought it back, and they found a breach in the gasket. Had it replaced again and have no more leaks.

    I had a similar issue with my 2016. With normal A/C on it would drip every once in a great while. With the A/C on recirc... it would never drip. :confused:

    Following...I just had mine drip while using the AC heavily in this hot summer weather. Could only find moisture on the bottom of the large black round ac/heat box directly above passenger floor mat. Pulled my cabin air filter the next day and it seemed dry.

    I was told by the dealership that it's condensation from using the a/c. I live in southern Louisiana so it's very hot and humid.

    I still have this problem intermittently. It is not related to or caused by a blocked cowl. (that may be an issue for some people, but not for me). It is A/C condensate and it is not from a blocked drain hose - my drain line appears to work fine.

    I have read that the way it is cut can sometimes at speed cause it to back up and not drip right. I'm going to try cutting it or runing it differently when i have time or see if restricted during driving. Otherwise it may be a leak around the core housing.

    Had you by any chance done the a/c drain mod? I thought maybe that was the problem for me because I have the same issue in 2019 TRD OR.
