((Please for the love of all things Tacoma if you don't own or have experience with this set up don't post here. I'm only trying to get real world experience with the Westcott lift. Not here to debated weather I need or don't need a lift or any other garbage. Just want to hear from the people running this setup.))

All right folks. I've been kicking around some ideas for a suspension set up for all weather daily driving around VA. Some camping and some hunting in the future but nothing crazy. I have plans for a full kit in the future but not in the near future.

Got a promotion with a better work life balance but I'll be driving a little more day to day.

I got gifted some new SCS F5 16x8 0 offset wheels and I'm planning on running my factory tires (they only have 5k miles on them) for now.

    The plan:
Westcott lift for the stock off road suspension

    or

Westcott lift for the Bilstein 5100s with the Bilsteins and Icon add a leaf

GOT BILSTEIN 5100s AND ICON ADD A LEAF

Truck is a 21 DCSB TRD Off Road 4x4 with 5k miles on it.

    The question:
For those of you who have the Westcott lift, how do you like it? Should I get the kit for the factory OR suspension or should I do the 5100s and Westcott lift?

    The kits in question:

As I do not have direct experience with the Westcott coller lift, I do have experience in many other coller lift spacers that are on the market. Spacer lifts are going to be pretty much the same across-the-board. They will get you some height, and will be good for The lifted look and some mild off roading. If you do choose to do anything more than mild operating, I would look into doing a full 5100 BilStein left instead of a collar spacer. This is obviously depending upon your budget of course.

My experience with the Wescott lift on my Pro has been great, truck rides like it did before the lift and the parts have held up well to a good deal of offroad driving.

However, if I had an OR instead of a Pro, I'd probably have chosen to replace the stock suspension outright before looking into lift components like the Wescott, since the Pro's stock suspension is much more worth keeping than that on the OR is.

I recently camped with a buddy who runs an offroad shop here in AZ.

He pays a ton of his bills because countless people pay him to pull their Westcott collar lifts off of their trucks when they finally realize they were a waste of money. He has built shelving out of the removed spacers, that's how prominent it is.

Keep it OEM (I ran OEM for years, hard trails and heavy loads too) until you are ready to get what you really want.

Getting a 3" lift out of 5100's is chuckleville. Damn.

    Ok, kids you won!

I ordered some Bilstein 5100s and Icon add a leaf.

Now deciding if I should run the stock springs on the top notch or OME 888 on the bottom notch up front.
