Picked up mine on 9/19 DCSB TRD OR 4x4 with nav, no sunroof, or JBL system (planned on aftermarket upgrade) already put LEDs for headlights, fogs, all interior lamps and license plate bulbs. Getting tint all around on 10/8 with alpine components for the doors, alpine amp and 10" alpine sub. My old 2011 TRD Sport DCSB 4x4 I traded is in the background.

Also planning on upgrading to LEDs when my truck comes. What brand or where did you get the LEDs?

Thanks man! Could you post some pics of the lights with fogs if you get a chance? :)

Congrats on the truck! Getting the same, but longbed.

    Not according to the VIN.

What makes a Pro, a Pro is that is was made that way from the factory.
People can obviously do what ever they want, personally, I just feel it's a tad fraudulent to try to make something appear as something it's not. It's like buying a Carrera and then slapping a 911 badge on it. No matter how much you try, it's not a 911.

Who cares. It's a mass produced pickup truck from a japanese automaker. Also, Carrera is used on different models of Porsche cars over the years. More correct would be "Carrera" badge put on a 911 which is the actual model designation. The only time it would be considered fraudulent would be if a seller was trying to pass off an SR model as a TRD Pro.

You are still driving around giving the impression that you have a TRD model that you in fact did not pay for.

    Just how I see it.
    Obviously, it's a free country.

Not my problem that Toyota did not make enough MT LB AC Pros to be readily available.
In one thread people say the Pro was a waste of money & you can build the same for less and it's just a option package. In this thread, we say it's a magic vin option, some may care, I don't.

I am equipping my Po Pro like this & keeping the chrome! Because I like it & the hood comes 1st.

Maybe I'll just put the SC stickers on & leave the parts in the box!

Congratulations on your new truck, she's a beauty.

When you did the Headlight upgrade to LED did you do both High and Low Beam?

I guess if you're totally clueless to what TRD is (not saying you are), I can see that.. but I had a TRD badge on my 100 series that I offroaded more than some folks offroad their actual TRDs. My 4runner has a TRD badge on it. It's really not limited to just the vehicles, TRD is a whole other world as far as Toyota competing in various events.. You can be a fan of TRD w/o having to own one..

I really like how the OP has put the TRD emblem on the opposite side of the tailgate, IMO it balances it out. I will be doing the same when I get mine.

TRD to me is the race division of Toyota. Sure they have designated option packages that come from the factory as TRD equipped, but that doesn't mean you can't equip the same on an SR5. It would be one thing if the TRD aftermarket parts were only exclusive to TRD equipped Tacomas, but that's not the case. They make TRD that can be equipped on all their models down to the SR. I see no harm in badging your truck TRD since it's a racing division within Toyota that caters to many models, not just TRD specific models. The Porsche example used by PackCon is apples to oranges. 911 isn't a race division within Porsche that makes parts for many other models as TRD does. It's a specific model that Porsche makes. In the end, it's about what makes the owner happy. I'm sure we could all sit here and pick apart each others trucks about what we disagree on, but that's not constructive and not the point of this thread.

Anyhow, here's a few pics I took requested by some other members. Let me know if you guys want some other angles and I'll take them tonight. By the way, the blue glow of the dash lights and the center cluster screen is pretty awesome!

@Dean724 Agreed.. And I would have been completely happy with an SR5 in all honesty.. But as with anyone, I got caught up in the moment, figured just grab the TRD. No regrets though. Can't wait for mine to get here..

Did you take the skirt off along the bottom?? It looks so much better without the skirt.

Yes, took the skirt/airdam off the first day. Took about 5 min of labor to drastically improve the look of the front end. I figured the MPG savings is negligible. I believe all the 4x4 or at least TRD models don't come with it at all.

Now my next order of business is to replace those minivan tires!!

I saw a TRD OR with a color-keyed rear bumper and I've seen one with chrome. I guess I missed the memo on that option. Thought all TRD ORs came with Chrome.
